And people actually fall for this dogshit? For christ sake the guy is struggling to write an e-mail in English yet has only just moved to Spain? Surely it'd be the other way round. Surely the alarm bells would be ringing when you read "never been implied in any accident and it is as advertised".

It reminds me of one of those bloody Nigerian e-mails regarding a large sum of money that needs to be released from some recently deceased individual.

If they fall for this it makes me think some people shouldn't be allowed to leave their houses. It really isn't anything sophisticated that they are doing, purely playing on greed.

I told him I am holidaying near Cadiz and can pop over to see the car tomorrow.

Well done! The good news is the longer you can keep him going and wasting his time, the less time they have to scam someone. Same with keeping fraudsters talking on the phone, gives them less time to find victims.

I spent last week reporting every scam ad on Autotrader (like those in post 46 above) -- OCD, I know. They were all removed within 24 hours.

This week, I can't find one. Perhaps Autotrader are doing more, at last, or the scammers have gone elsewhere.

It's not AutoTrader's fault people use it to scam. It's not AutoTrader's fault that people are actually stupid enough to fall for such a scam. Are people that desperate for a new car that they would consider such ridiculous suggestions "we'll float it over from Spain on the back of a floating door".

AutoTrader is merely a vessel to sell cars...

If you're that greedy and think there are bargains out there like this then you deserve everything you get.

My fault. I was bored the other night waiting for a computer to finish some updates and reported all the ones in the link above any many more.

I will try and remember to leave some for you next time :)
