to stop obvious scammers like this:
http://www.autotrader
All the ads take the same form -- vastly underpriced cars and an email address.
The one below is a wreck and is £500 more.

I don't get what your gripe is? Is it because it's under priced?0
-
Obviously not. It's because some mug will lose money to a scammer and it could be prevented by Autotrader monitoring the ads it receives.Je suis sabot...0

I'm sure there is a facility to report ads, that often get removed with no chance of a refund, I'm sure when you ring the guy he will say it should be £13k not £3k.0 -
It's not a pricing error, it's a scam. There are many similar ones on Autotrader.

By the way that number is for someone at the University.0

The wording in that ad would put me off, claims to be a trade seller then says "This car was owned by me but drived (sic) by my mother". I haven't advertised anything on Autotrader since we went all online, but I'd image ads are now posted with very little, if any, interaction with Autotrader. Which may be why they have a big !Report button, have you pressed it?0

I agree, they have all the car details the person has put in for the advert so it should be easy to flag up those that are being sold at a price well under what the car is worth.
