Panasonic breadmakers

I was lucky enough to buy one on e-bay which has the dispenser, having had morphy Richards and another make which I found very variable in results.
I can honest say the only time I have made a bad loaf is when I have done something wrong. It's an absolute joy, and the seeded bread that I make brother and sis in law said was better than the M&S version they buy.
Do be very careful about measuring, I was a bit slapdash about this at the beginning and results were good, but now I use the Panasonic measures every time the results are outstanding. Even converted OH to wholemeal seeded bread (as long as it's home made).0 -

Any suggestions???????????
We can't suggest anything without more detail on the ingredients you used and the recipe(s) you followed.
Was the flour definitely strong flour, intended for use in bread makers?
Did you put all the dry ingredients in first, wet last?
Tell us more - honestly, there's not a lot to go wrong if you go by the book. We've made a load of loaves in a Pana with no failures.0 -
Its not just seeds, bacon and chillies can be added to bread.
For the perfect loaf of bread put the ingredients in the pan in the order of the recipes are in the book. In the year and half I've had mine I've had 1 duff loaf (we forgot to put the paddle in it)!0 -
Have had a really cheap bread maker for a year, never had a duff loaf. But now want to upgrade, thinking Panasonic.
Have they all got delayed timers but far more important is the 'paddle'.
Some times I struggle to remove the loaf from the tin.Can any one suggest where I'm going wrong and would an upgrade solve it.0 -
I bought one of those bacon slices from Argos 'cos my slices were like doorsteps and it was great until i broke it. I never realised but as Wallbash said the paddle sometimes sticks in the loaf. Anyway those bacon slicers don't cut through steel and all the plastic cogs in the Slicer broke.
Now after waiting for the loaf to cool i use an electric carving knife ..... don't laugh but ..... what i have to do to get a thin straight sllice is, cut one side straight the depth of the knife, then turn the loaf and do the same again ... and again ..... and again Once i've got my 4 lines i can get a proper slice.
I wonder should i get another bacon slicer and remember to make sure the paddle is out.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
