It would be very interesting to get some real statistics on this topic regarding amount of tickets given out. How many are lawful/genuine. How are many get paid etc.
None are legit, none are paid by posters here (unless they are stupid). Across the whole UK this scam is a pariah and every day people are fooled into thinking they have a real fine and just pay these without even so much as a Google search.
My concern is the trust withholding Parking Permits in order to ticket people and get more money? Cynical? Very. But if it makes money.
How can they do that if a registered keeper ends up appealing the ticket (AFTER the first letter arrives to the keeper) and they don't know who the driver was? They could end up illegally withholding a permit from a person who wasn't the driver that day.

This is all explained in the sticky threads already about how to appeal and when. And the time is NOT NOW if the driver has only had a windscreen ticket.

P.S. there is an explanation of acronyms in the NEWBIES thread already (plus how to appeal, when to appeal and why you should wait). And I have a life, a job, a husband and 4 kids and have no time to write another sticky thread with a glossary no-one would read!

The whole permit rubbish is exactly that, if its outside a block of flats, the driver waits for the NtK to arrive, then that shows the RK lives at a premises on the complex, how can the parking company have any say? The Notice to Keeper basically is part of the evidence to show that there is no basis in a claim, they know that the person who owns the car is living on the site.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

  • I failed to mention I had actually parked on the site for the past 5 months with no tickets what so ever.
The only thing that has changed is the car.

Originally I had an 10 year old Ford Mondeo estate Ghia model in red. No tickets

I now have a lovely 5 year old Hyundai Santa Fe - seven seat edition and currently have 3 tickets.

Got another one today. He wrote the ticket out in front of me even though I shouted from my flat I could move the car.

Is this for real? He wrote the ticket out after 5 which is the time a temp permit would start.

None of it matters - except the mistake you made today in shouting out from your flat. Don't show yourself to be the likely driver of the car!

The whole point is to wait for the NTK letters and then appeal and win. Keep a low profile, the driver should not be identified (I realise you didn't give him your name but you shouldn't have shown your face). Never mind, just wait for the NTKs which will start arriving in April, or end of March, and may not be headed 'Notice to Keeper' but will still be your cue to send the template first appeal (from the NEWBIES sticky) for each and every one!
