I understand that the 123 ISA must be funded within 14 days. Does that also apply to transfers?
Deposits for 2013/14 tax year can be made up to and including 5 April 2014 and deposits for 2014/2015 tax year can be made up to and including 31 May 2014. Nothing about 14 days there?

My existing 2 year fixed Major ISA is due to mature on 01.05.14. If I use the Upgrade option to transfer this to the new ISA, will there be a penalty of 120 days interest if it needs to be done with 14 days of opening the account?
Existing fixed rate ISA customers - fixed rate cash ISAs are eligible to upgrade within 28 days of maturity date.

You should be able to specify that you do not want the upgrade before maturity, or they will probably automatically do it only after it's matured. Ask them.

Thanks for that, I hadn't seen that statement before.

Not sure where I saw the 14 days thing and can't check at the moment as I am at work. I have read the T&Cs of a number of ISAs recently so may be mixing them up.

I shall give them a ring tonight or tomorrow re when I can upgrade.

Taken from the 123 FR ISA section of the website:

Transfer applications must be received within 14 days of opening if transferring in from an external ISA provider. Ensure funds are available to transfer.
Transfer applications must be received by 31 May 2014 if transferring in from a Santander cash ISA. Funds must be available to be transferred at point of request.

Not sure that answers the question or not.

Hmmm... I also wanted to open a 123 2 year fixed rate ISA, and also seem to now have a 2 year fixed rate ISA instead (i.e. without the 123). OH also opened one and it's the same.

badger09, did you get a response? I've just messaged them, but wondered if you'd heard anything more yet?

No response yet to my secure message sent Saturday 14.15
I also called Santander to confirm Fixed ISA was indeed the 2.3% one and was told that they were aware of the problem and that the account details should change to 123 within 5 working days and will also be confirmed by the paperwork in the post. We shall see...

    Thanks for that

I've just checked and my detailed product description now shows 123 2 Year Fixed Rate. :)

The 123 prefix has now appeared on my account detail description as well.

As savetilibleed says, you have until 31st May to transfer existing Santander isa. Why not just open it now and transfer nearer the time?

They have confirmed to me that my rate is 2.0% :(

This is despite using the right link for the account. They want my OLA to 'see what has happened'. Not moving any money into the account until this is sorted, and really not impressed!

    Thanks both.

I think I have been confusing terms for external and internal transfers, probably because I have a Santander ISA maturing soon and also a Nationwide one to transfer.

I think that one of the problems is the the lack of clarity/confirmation during the registering process as for what you are actually signing up to.
From what I can recall after pressing the 2.3% 2 yr Fixed Rate Link at no other time did it confirm which ISA I was signing up to, I just recall generic ISA forms/pages to complete and at the end of the process still no confimration of which ISA type or Interest rate, or even in the confirmation email which is sent after registration.
When I purchase something online at various stages of the process and at the time of paying I am often asked to check details and can see what I am buying, this doesn't seem to be the case with signing up to a Santander ISA.
  • Hello

I've just opened a Santander Cash ISA, however I am unable to download the transfer form, either on their page or on the email they sent me. It says my Adobe is out of date (I upgraded today).

Can anyone else access this or do they have the pdf they can send me?
