    Morning all :hello:

I'm off to work, hopefully it won't take long and then I can enjoy some sunshine, nothing planned yet, but hoping to do something nice this afternoon. Knowing my OH's surprises though that could be a trip to lidl :D

Hope everyone has a good day

i was diagnoised with depression and stress 4 years ago which was eventually termed as a breakdown 4 years on and it seems such a slow process i get days where my body feels physically exhausted especially if the weather is cloudy and not sunny but when the sun is out it makes quite a difference to my general aches and pains.

does anyone else feel like me and how long have you been unwell for

    Hi sh!:hello:
It's nice to hear from you again hun. Are you feeling any better angel?
Seasonal Affective Disorder seems to fit the bill for some people who really suffer. Maybe it'd be a good idea to mention this to your gp hun? Keep a log of the weather and moods for a few days or weeks to see if you can see a pattern and then show him that.

When we're at our lowest, it's bound to affect us to look out and see nothing but rain and grey - especially when we expect sunshine and blue skies. It feels as though the weather and seasons are upside down - guess I'd better order a bikini for December! :D
Life seems slower, people who we rely on for help call in sick or couldn't make the journey, there's no sign of life outside and even the birds are back in the nest.
Our physical and mental ill health do affect our energy hun. If we're really low, generally we stop eating, feel exhausted and the body doesn't have much energy.

We all react differently to our treatment hun and of course our experinces are unique to our situation.
If I may be so bold as to rate this as a priceless tip for dealing with mental ill health... never worry about how long your recovery is taking. It's an extra stress you don't need and you'll end up comparing yourself to others and thinking you've failed and feel even worse. :o
It's very much a 'how long is a piece of string?' situation angel and you have to be realistic about what getting better actually means for you.;)

The best approach, imho, is to think of recovery as being happier, able to manage daily life, able to have a social network, to feel better about yourself and able to manage the low points, and for your mental ill health not to be the first thing you think about.

The range of mental health illnesses itself is wide and comes in different degrees hun. It's really common to say 'I became unwell on ...', but when you have therapy sometimes you may come to realise there were signs of it before that date.

Personally speaking angel, I've been unwell for many years due to various events, but I always kept my issues deep inside, buried. But you and I are different people sh.
You can end up really tormenting yourself hun about the length of time it's taking to get better - and that stops you from concentrating, believing and succeeding in making a happy future.;)

We have to make our lives the best they can be imho- just like people who aren't dealing with mental ill health do.
Hope this helped sweetheart and please don't give up hun...it'll take as long as it takes.;)
Be kind to yourself hun and have a good weekend.hug.gif

Just come across this thread and have been reading through ... Its good to know 'one' is not alone, some days it feels like that, don't it

    Hi kaz!welcome.gif
Good of you to stop by hun.:T
I hope you - or any other silent readers - don't ever feel you can't post. Everyone's welcome here.;)

I agree with what you say about feeling alone hun - with or without mental ill health issues. There's nothing worse than holding great pain and feeling you've no-one, and nowhere, to turn to.:o
That's why this thread helps to make people feel better - everyone here has felt the need to share and has been listened to.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts kaz - I hope you'll feel free to post again hun. Take care.hug.gif

    Afternoon :hello:

Feeling fed up today. I'm trying hard to make new friends, but I have been blown out twice this week. The one today didn't even let me know, I was really looking forward to it and feel like i've waited all afternoon for her. The other one said she would call to re-arrange, but hasn't. I know its going to be hit and miss for a while, but its knocked my confidence.

On a positive note I tidied up for her coming so the house looks nice for the weekend at least. :)

    Hey Zip

sorry to hear you're feeling down :( :grouphug:

Life certainly can be unkind at times can't it.

Zip I know you from elsewhere on line too,as you know, and I have to say you are one of the loveliest people I've encountered on line anywhere - you're so sweet, kind and considerate - you're a very, very special person and I hope what I'm saying here helps lift both your mood and your confidence.

You know you can PM me any time here or "the other place" ;) also if you don't already have it you're welcome to have my email addy and you can get in touch anytime. :grouphug:

Take care and be kind to yourself Zip - love you loads :kisses3:

    All quiet in here.

Hugs and handshakes to you all.
I just haven't woken up today. Eyes tired (hayfever really), me tired.
Done a couple of bets but I know I don't have enough alertness for it.

I'm having a row on the gambling section at the moment coz I've said why don't we just gamble the free bets - it's risk free.
I will be lightly toasted and placed in the nearest skip lol.

I hope you are all ok.
