Every week I make myself promise NOT to read up on what will happen in next week's episode but it always gets broken:o ! Same goes for Holby City, although I don't like the new way it has been filmed. Do you remember they did it to Casualty for a series?
Just to reassure you that I know it is only a tv programme, but I do think they show "cause & effect" without going OTT. When my chidren were yongsters, I used to encourage them to watch these typs of programme-especially London's Burning-for the very reason of showing them what would happen if they ever decded it was 'fun' to drink themselves silly or sniff paint cans or what have you. Let's just say that I could trust my offspring to know my feelings on things, but their friends leave a lot to be desired!
And anyway, if we can get caught up in a programme for half hour or so, it can only be giving our brains a rest. That's my excuse & I'm sticking to it so:p

They've bought out the first 3 series on DVD, but I want the newer ones to be out on DVD too!
I love being able to escape into a programme - I still dream about being a paramedic, but I've not gone down the right route now. x

Oh damn! Now I don't know what to put on my list for Santa, cos they've got CSI:NY & NCIS on dvd too........oooooohhhhh mummie......
I would have liked to have been a pharmasist or dispenser in a chemists. Just before I left school, we had a family day out to Aldershot I]showing my age now-it was safe to have Open Days for the Services way back then[/I & I made serious enquiries about signing up & doing my training whilst serving my country. It didn't come to much when they said I would have to join the Queen Alexander Nursing Corps cos "females were not permitted to serve in a military unit" & they most definately would not have let me drive a tank!
My dad always said I "should have been born with a spout" until it came to me going to uni to study, when it changed to "a waste of time & money because by the time a girl leaves, she only wants to get married & have children". I think that's some of why I'm like I am...no-one has ever believed in me.
So I make up for it now by watching all the medical stuff on the box. I get to play doctor without leaving my armchair or letting my cuppa get cold:rotfl: :rotfl:
