    :hello: Everyone,

Got my money out at post office then I got some weightwatchers bread from the co-op :) rang shop and scan to say the chain keeping my papers together is broken and could they send a new chain out, they are sending me some new papers which are laminated, they said what are the papers like and I said a bit worn actually which was the truth :) The shop and scan people are so lovely and I like doing the research and it only takes a few minutes of my time each week as they pay £1 a week to me.When I get 10,000 points I can get a gift voucher sent out to me to spend so that is nice for me :)

now on a cup of tea before I go to my parents as I have half an hour now before I go out again :)

enjoy your driving lesson Diamond :)

    love and light,

    Katie xxx

I hope its ok if I join in this thread but Im feeling so upset.

An uncle of mine died last week and it is his funeral this morning. I haven't gone because I get very upset at funerals (I could go to the funeral of a total stranger and get upset!). I am 42 and have suffered with depression for quite a few years now and just cannot handle funerals at all.

However, my mum is having everyone back to her house afterwards and has arranged the caterers and she asked me if I would stay in the house this morning to let the caterers in whilst they were at the funeral and then help giving tea and coffee out when everyone comes back. I thought I would be ok but as soon as they left for the funeral I broke down in tears and had to ask my husband to come home from work to take over for me.

Im now at home and so upset that I wasn't able to even do this small thing for mum. I feel a wreck. What a wimp!

you're not a wimp, funerals are difficult. you tried, and that is the important thing! how are you feeling now? try not to worry - i'm sure your mum will understand! are you taking anything for your depression?

My mum isn't the most understanding person Im afraid, so I don't know what she'll say later. Im still crying (I came home an hour ago). Im on seroxat and have been for years. I find Im ok when everything is going ok but whenever there is a family upset I just break down, like today.

Hi everyone I joined this thread a little while back and haven't posted since, so lots of hugs to you all and I hope you're all doing ok. Feeling a bit lousy at the moment, lots of different things really.

From a financial point of view I really need to start working more hours, however the only jobs I can find are ones that involve the kids getting themselves off to school in the morning alternating with being alone in the evening. They are plenty old enough to be doing this but my younger two, 12 and 15 both loathe school and will do anything to stay off. I just know if I wasn't here to force them out of the door they would end up having more time off than they do already. Feel really resentful. The whole family do very little to help around the house, we have dogs and I'm the one who ends up walking them most days. OH does cook but leaves all the clearing up to me.

Honestly our house is a TIP and I hate living like this but can't seem to get it sorted. I don't seem to stop all day but at the end of the day have achieved next to nothing.

Sorry to moan on but just needed to get it off my chest! Hope you're all having a better time.

    oh you poor thing,
you know that you tried, and you should be proud! that kind of thing can be difficult for anybody, but with depression, things are even worse, which people don't seem to understand unless they suffer from it themselves. hopefully your husband is understanding and supportive.
just remember that you did try, however difficult it was for you!

Thanks angellotz, my husband is supportive luckily. I don't know what Id do without him sometimes.

Hugs for you cat64. It is really difficult coping with family life. I wish I could go out to work and earn us a few extra pennies but my depression is quite bad and Im on incapacity benefit. I find myself thinking of the nice house/car/extras for the kids we could have if I earnt some money, but I just can't.

I suppose you have to find time in the day for yourself, when perhaps you go out, go for a walk or just sit with a cuppa with something nice on the tv and try not to feel guilty about it.

It amazes me how we women do the things we do and put ourselves out for everyone else and then get the guilts the minute we do anything for ourselves!

Hi Cat:hello: Just wondered if it would be possible for one of your older children to make sure the younger ones get off to school or do they set off earlier?Teenagers are hard work and my oldest would skive off when he could.Don't worry about the housework my house is a tip as well and my family is not as large as yours. As your kids are older how about splitting the housework if everyone does a room each it would make it easier and maybe if they had the responsability of keeping it tidy they would learn not to make so much mess.

Could you work for a catalogue? Perhaps collecting and delivering parcels. This way you would be at home to see your kids off and when they come back?
