I thought there was a depression support thread on the Families bit.

Is that just for a particular group?

    Sorry if I sound dense.
    Always another chapter

I think there is already a support thread, not sure if its in the Arms though...

I've never suffered from depression, but i've had some real crap times in my life, i've had some really crap weeks/months and can sometimes be "Mr Negative", thankfully I've never became depressed so I couldn't pick myself up again!

There is already a depression support thread on the Health board type place.

I think I have it, or not, dunno.

How do you know the difference between feeling down and depression?

depression is more a feeling of islotation, from other people and yourself or what you think of as your former self

Like feeling the worlds against you and there is nothing you can do about it?

yep, exactly that - the barriers are up against you - no way out.

That's obviously clinical depression, which is what I suffered from.

But thats how I feel but maybe thats just cos I have had one of the sh1ttiest years possible.

I daren't go to the doctors about it because I don't want to get loaded up on pills if its just me being stuck in a rut.

I'd stay away from the pills if possible - but that is only y experience, they don't deal with the problem.

The problem is that you can't talk to people for fear of being ashamed.
Open up to people that are close to you, or talk to a stranger who knows about depression.

You can talk yourself deeper into depression because you feel you might bother someone, it's the natural process

Same here!, one of the reasons i'm signed upto about 20 different forums, I find talking about random crap (well most times) easier to forget about my real problems!, I've had some days where I could almost cry because it feels like everything I try just doesn't work, its a feeling of taking away the skin and realising you have next to no-one and nothing!

Where is the line between "feeling down" and "depressed" I wonder?
