I dunno why? am just sat here feeling miserable and sorry for myself. I don't think watching eastenders helped my mood really tho. Both kids have gone back to hospital today and the house is awful quiet, OH is having an early night cos it's his first day back to work tomorrow and they've put him on a 12 hour shift because they're so short staffed (10 person dept with 4 staff members!)

i feel sorry for myself too when i'm alone, my sons go to bed at nine, sometimes i wished they stay up later to keep me company. my ex hasnt helped either tonight, he rang me, but i think he has finally got the message we are over, at least i hope he has, time will tell

sorry just seen your earlier post antronella, if you not ready to go back to work could you get another sick note?

When I went off sick in oct it was for shingles, which I got cos I had been under such stress and was ready to crack..when i was off..I cracked! My sick notes haven't reflected my real problem although the doc was fully aware. My colleagues know whats been going on for past year and half but.. the job needs to be done when you're there and theres only so much sympathy available before you start to 'push your luck' ..if you know what I mean. I would like not to have to reveal too much more about 'me' so I am going to try my best and see if I can do it x

Ethel, sorry you're down and so sorry bout your kids in hospital x don't know any background re this, hope they'll be ok. I watched EE too ...how depressing was it?!!

Hi all first of all HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope all of you are fine and dandy and enjoying the new year already. I was in a bit of a pickle of where to spend last night (with my family who hate my bf) or with my bf at his with a take away and a bottle of wine, in the end i told my mum and step dad that i wasnt chosing between them and they've had me for the last few years and i want a change of plan that i was going to my bf's for the night, they wasnt happy but went along with it. I had a dead good night with him and went shopping today too :) i came home did my work he picked me up and took me to his aunts because she was having a party and i've just got back in now :)

Hi to everyone who's new here im not ignoring you or anything i hope we can all help you feel better this year, chin up :)

I'm an ex-depressive, was clinical for years.
There are a lot of people here that are and might be, so I thought it would be good to have a support thread.

I was originally trained in Psychology and then got depressed - i blame the uni lol.

I went through hell and nearly lost my life. If you want to post under an AE I think that will be acceptable to the bosses - correct me if i am wrong.

There is already a depression support thread on the Health board type place.

I think I have it, or not, dunno.

How do you know the difference between feeling down and depression?
