    evening everyone

Daughter is back in hospital.. spent all day there today, first in A&E and then in the children's ward, she'll probably be transferred to a crisis unit tomorrow. She's ok, she hasn't harmed herself but she was feeling as tho she might and didn't want to risk it.

SF, do you mean 'accidentally' or self-harming? Either way, clean the cut with running water & put a bit of pressure on it using a bit of kitchen paper OK?

    Ethel
sorry about your daughter....& this is going to sound really callous, but at least you should be able to sleep tonight knowing she is safe. Take this time to recharge your batteries, cuz you're gunna need the energy for when she comes home.

I'll be around for another half hour or so if you fancy a chat. If not, see you in the morning.

    Peaceful Minds folks. BMFx

    Hi sf!:hello:
Are you all right hun? Is it bad?
Clean it up sf and put a clean dressing on it. You don't want an infection. If it's a bad one go straight to A&E.

Have you got the number of your local crisis team sf? I'd suggest giving NHSDirect or your local A&E a phone call angel.
Look after the wound first and then take care of the reason for it. Let the professionals support you hunnie please.hug.gif

I saw once, that a lot of people express SH as a physical release---like a train whistle lets out some steam.
Please be careful what you 'use', cuz you could end up with a nasty infection.
I don't feel as if I'm being very supportive here, but if I asked you not to do it...............would it make any difference?
I don't mean that to sound sarcastic......just concerned...........

SF - for me, self-harm is as much as an addiction as alcoholism. Try reading the twelve steps:
    http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk/geninfo/05steps.shtml
Only replace alcohol with self harm. They are the steps I'm using to deal with my addictions, maybe they could help you?
There are some self-harm anonymous meetings in America, but I've yet to find any over here. There are forums and chat rooms that use the steps for self-harm though.
