Hi again...Nissan is a much better choice.....even though I work for Vauxhall....which engine are you thinking about ?......the petrol engines are made by Nissan and the diesels engines are made by Renault.

I have had a Nissan Xtrail for 8 years and not had any problems other than usual discs/pads etc.

The licence thing will be to cover themselves just in case you had driven their car without a valid licence.

Can't comment on the finance side...but as you say they can always repossess if you theoretically stopped paying.

The roadtest reviews did state the Trax was noisy and seemed like they forgot to fit the sound insulation.

The 1.7 diesel is as old as the hills not the latest generation of quiet and super efficient ones.

Sometimes you have to wonder what they tested previously. Some £80k luxury vehicle where you can hear your watch tick whilst doing 100mph across cobbles.

Cheaper cars are cheaper for a reason.

Crikey, I uas the misfortune of having a Nissan Juke as a hire car recently. I remember thinking how is it a company can produce such rubbish and still stay in business? Not a good car at all.

Hi, could be more specific about your criticism... Nissan make very reliable cars that are usually well built.

The petrol engines are made by Nissan are very good, the diesel engines are made by Renault and personally I don't think they're as good as the diesels Nissan used to make.

The Juke is a "lifestyle" car....with the looks of a 4x4 but drives like a car.

To say they are rubbish is a bit of a sweeping generalism !

It's not a real Chevrolet though, it's a marketing exercise for GM to try and sell crap they couldn't shift by re-badging them

Hmmm, I didn't realise they only do 27 MPG!
    According to their forums.
What's that all about in this day and age?

Tried out a 1.5 diesel which was a lot better than I expected, hardly noticed it was a diesel so might go for that now

The 1.4T will be more powerful, but will potentially use more fuel when pushed and will be more expensive to maintain (it's a complex part so there will be additional servicing costs). I'd probably go for the 1.4T if the prices are similar though as it'll probably drive better.
No additional costs until the turbo goes bang. A 1.4T has the power of a 1.6 while giving mpg between a 1.4 and 1.6 (that's the whole idea of turbos in non performance cars)

Renault diesels= spend 10hr continually dipping the dipstick to check the oil level after topping up:mad:
