Boiler Issue

Yes the tap icon comes on the display0

Do you get any hot water through at all? Does it go hot then cold or remain lukewarm, is it better when you run the tap slower?0
-
I do get hot water but it starts to go cold and then hot. Also the heaters are getting hot when the hot tap is open. The temperature keeps fluctuating between hot and cold when the taps are open. The radiator pipe that comes out of the boiler gets hot but the pipe that carries the water to the taps isnt that hot which means that the hot water is diverting to both sides the rads and the taps.0

Probably worth checking that the hook on the spindle of the diverter valve is connected properly onto the motor. Does sound like a possible blockage but was the hot water ok before you changed the valve?0
-
Yes the spindle on the valve is connected properly on the motor.the hot water was fine before getting the valve changed.0
-
In that case I would definately question whether he fitted a new diverter valve or not.0
-
I can confirm he did because the leaking diverter valve was a bit different to the updated diverter valve.Vaillant changed the old diverter valve to a new updated one with a new part number.0

I rang a friend who came round who seems to know a lot more about these things than me and he said the motor doesnt seem to be doing anything on the diverter valve. He says the pcb is most likely at fault which isnt sending anthing to the valve. He says the diverter valve is just buzzing and not opening or shutting.Had tried it on a another motor from a diverter valve and the motor was just buzzing not opening or shutting or moving at all.0

If it does turn out to be the pcb which is most likely now how much would I expect to be paying for the pcb and getting it fitted?0

Get on to your landlord tomorrow and tell them to send someone to fix it.
