Boiler Issue

Options
Hello Everyone
I have an issue with my boiler and cant afford too get it fixed.
The boiler is about 8 years old.I tried to get a free boiler but they wont
give me one because they say its a combi boiler.
Its a vaillant ecotec plus 824.
I cant afford to get it fixed because im on job seekers.
Also have my elderly mother who lives with me.
I dont really want to get a loan or anything like that.
Is there anything I can do to get some sort of help in getting the boiler fixed. The Radiators are working fine but have a hot water issue.:(

Having a combi boiler is not a bar to the ECO (free) boiler scheme provided you qualify. Google ECO and contact several providers. It's a long slow uncertain process, but....

Is it gas or oil? (this is the oil forum....)

Failing that, either get an independant OFTEC/GasSafe engineer in (around £50 - 80), or find a friend who knows what they are doing (though if it's gas they need to be GasSafe registered).

Is the boiler yours, or are ou in rented acomodation? If rented, write to your landlord.

Sorry it is gas,and the boiler is mine its not a rented accommodation.
I will try the link you provided and see what happens.
Everyone I have contacted comes back to say I cant have a new boiler because its classed as a high efficiency boiler.

It is a very high efficiency boiler, SEDBUK A rated and 91% SAP seasonal efficiency.

There is no reason to replace an otherwise working boiler when the fault may be simple and inexpensive to fix.

You dont mention in any way what the fault is, could it be as simple as the water pressure has dropped too low? there should be an error code on the screen

If you qualify for AW you should be able to get a repair if you qualify, try your energy provider. Flow sensor is a very cheap part on these boilers these days and a full repair should only be costing you 60/ 70 quid.....not worth scrapping a decent boiler for.

    Thanks for the replies.
There doesnt seem to be any error codes on the screen and the water pressure is 1.5 bar which is fine.Im not getting hot water how I should.
I had a leaking diverter valve and had it replaced and the water isnt getting hot enough. The hot water seems to be diverting to the radiators.
There is no error code on the screen. The radiators luckily are working fine.I am getting hot water but not enough for a shower.
Ollski mentioned something about qualifying for AW?
Can someone tell me what that is.

from the symptoms its the diverter valve diaphragm gone, it senses the demand for hot water and should divert water for the domestice tap supply

    Thanks.
From the symptoms it does seem the diverter is gone but I had a new diverter valve put in because the old one was leaking.I get the valve from ebay from a reputable seller.I contacted the seller on ebay and he says the valve was brand new which seemed it was.

Ah ok slightly different fault than I thought. Run the tap, do you see the tap icon in the display? or the radiator?
