Oh you mean on the I want to buy it forum . Well as you can see different people answer on different forums and you get different answers too. I like to do my homework and I wanted to see what people thought of certain ones before I decide. I might go for a cheap Goodmans one or I might get a dearer humax one and be done with it.

Make sure that you get one with a Scart socket if you have an older CRT TV, providing that it has a scart socket.

You should post the connections available on your TV so no one wastes time recommending things which will be no use to you.

If it does, then make sure whatever you consider actually has a scart connection because they are not always available on every video playback/viewing/recording device. They are being dropped in favour of hdmi with composite out frequently the only analogue connection that is available. Composite is utter carp.

I can see your point re scart, however if the TV has HDMI then any STB OP buys needs one too.

emerald21 - I've got no experience of the Goodmans box, but I do have experience with the YouView - it's excellent, and I'll bet it's far easier to use too, and more futureproof. If you can afford it, considering how often you'll use it, it's definitely worth going for. Check the Humax reconditioned store too.
