Fair enough. With it being full of cars as it was busy I didn't have as much of a clear view as the google street view.

I'm not trying to be an !!!!. I'm a careful driver, not a plonker in the road. I waited, saw nothing so turned. It might be wrong, but I can only recall what I remember seeing.

I think you might have been day dreaming a bit Sarah. New lad in your life?;)

I'd blame it on him. It's always my fault anyway even if I'mnot around when something happens. :rotfl:

I had a 'crash' before christmas. A car crashed into my door whilst it was open and it nearly took my door off. Cost me £450 excess and my premium has just gone up a couple of hundred pounds on renewal. It happens mate. Take it on the chin. Crashes will always happen. Just thank god that you are okay.

Well the trouble is I've only had the car back a month from repairs. I was reversed into by a police car while stationary (they admitted full liability) and somebody a month after wrote off my partners car by hitting him on a motor way in the bum ( I was passenger).

Does this count as my third and I'm all clear now. One accident the third parties fault, one passenger and one my fault. Is that me done do you think?

Let's hope so. I'd blame it on him anyway. He'll feel left out otherwise. :)

I do think this is your fault on paper - however I do feel your pain. A couple of years ago or so I was sat at a red light behind a car with a large family in it all shouting and rocking the car (!). 2 lane NSL.

So when the lights went to green they were dawdling - as the parent was turning around and shouting at the kids sat in the back rather than picking up any speed. I looked in my wing mirror, nothing coming, looked again, white car appeared but (to ME) looked ages away, so I overtook.

White car went into the back/side of me.

White car was driving fast in Lane 2 to try and pass the almost-stationary line of traffic in Lane 1.

But it was my fault as even though I looked (I would admit it if I didn't) I did not judge the white car's speed correctly and effectively pulled out in front of it.

If the driver hadn't overtaken at such a speed it wouldn't have happened but at the end of the day he had a right to do that and wasn't breaking any road traffic laws etc.

It's a horrible feeling, after I gave him my insurance details I burst into tears, thankfully he was nice about it and I had OH with me.

I got over it by buying a new car LOL.

That's kind of the point though. If you didn't have a clear view which caused you to miss the oncoming vehicle (saying they appear out of nowhere is like blaming a lampost for hitting your car) then you shouldn't have attempted the manoeuvre. It may well be the shape of the mini was lost in the background of the other cars to your left but it was still there and was still your fault for turning into their path. In future look, and look again.

Assuming that you aren't the insurer for your partner, then that write off is nothing to do with you and isn't on your history.

So from your history listed you have had 2 claims not 3.(Including this latest one)
