    This is because they can charge the parts supplier for the work, or rather they charge the manufacturer, who then gets a percentage back from the parts supplier.

    The best one is when the customer warranty runs out, but the suppliers warranty is still running, they'll charge the customer for repairs and then charge the supplier too.
    If we take Honda for example, they get an 8 year warranty from most of their suppliers, do they extend this warranty to their customers? ;)

    Again, standard stuff.... This is why you never hear about most recalls from the BIG German, European and US vehicle manufacturers, the problems get fixed without anyone ever knowing they existed and any that don't get dealer serviced are simply brushed off as "one off" faults.
    Where as in contrast, the Japanese (Toyota) try to deny their mistakes and end up getting dragged through the mud.
