Well, I've neither gained nor lost this week, which is a bit surprising. I think its a case of too much drinking, not enough dancing (again)Ssshh - I might know about deals in/near Keswick0
-
Very wise LMEL, some things are way more important than weight loss!
Curveygirl, I love that you drink and dance, now that's what I call a healthy balance!I can't wait til I'm well enough to shake my booty on the dancefloor again :j.
It looks like we're trying to lose the same amount of weight so good luck to us both xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Evening all :hello:
Thanks everyone for adding to the list for the August challenge.
Here's the chart for this week, and also the final week of the July challenge. Lots of people achieved the target this time (including me) - Ajax, Bindiboo, Brighton Belle, Efrieze, Emptypocketz, Homealone, Juststarting, Lubo, Mistywoo, Newlywed, Suggs, Vixx and Victory (even though she's at target!) - so well done everybody, good luck for next month. :j
There are three slimmers of the week each losing 3lbs this week - well done Bails, Rustynash and Starlight. :T
The August challenge ends exactly four weeks from today, on Wednesday 29th July. I'm also going to start a Slimmer of the Month award as suggested by Efrieze, which will be announced when I do the final chart of the challenge on the 29th.
Have a good week!

Ajax - Starlight is right. The core plan might work for you. There's a huge list of free foods that you can pick from including several breakfast cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes, quorn (but not sausages or burgers - they come from your weekly points allowance). I think you might find this easier. If MrsA has the week 1 "eat wisely" book have a look at page 40 onwards. I'm in NI and our WW is run differently (and costs more £5.50 per week over here) so there might be a difference in the books (as in ours are probably older!)
The 21 points allowance is 3 points per week to spend on treats, bread, alcohol etc. I've got the book here if you want to know anything more!
......thanks delly. To be honest the 21 points per week is less of a machine to be naughty with than SW's 80 sys I allow myself, so if I was to stick to that sort of thing it would be SW. I am very tempted by (and veering toward) WW's points plan though. The worst a meal will cost me is 10 points, and with an allowance of 29 or 31 (depending on how active I judge myself to be at work) that's ok I think.
The Ulster WW may not be that much different - over here it becomes £5.50 from next week too. Which part are you in? My family is from Tyrone, and even my before/during SW pictures are taken with me wearing my Tyrone GAA shirt0 -

I'm finding counting points a whole lot easier this time and I'm 3 days in to restarting the whole dieting thing. I like the fact that if I really want something, I have it but I'm also better prepared with lower fat/point alternatives. Tesco's do a yummy healthy living dutch crispbreads at 1/2 a point each. 3 of those with 1 laughing cow light cheese triangle at 2 points is so much more filling than a bag of crisps. My family is from Tyrone, and even my before/during SW pictures are taken with me wearing my Tyrone GAA shirtGoal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Thanks for the tip, I'll point that out to MrsA. She'll be delighted.dellybelly wrote: »tyrone? TYRONE! phft phft!:p I'm from Derry but I worked in Omagh for a good few years. Lovely people!
...you got that right, although you folk over there have no idea of what a sensible sized plate of food isWhen I visit my auntie it's all "Will you just have a wee bit of toast?" ... and out comes a plate the size of a satellite dish covered with 4 rounds of toast and about 6 or 7 scrambled eggs on it!
Derry? Or should I say Lon ....... nah<cheeky grin, honestly> ....
Bleedin' northerners, does it ever get light during the winter up there? Polar bears walking across the airport runway etc0 -
LL, thanks so much for all the effort you put into the charts etc, it's really appreciated.
Can I ask to be added to the August challenge please as I don't think it's on the chart. Do I need to add myself to the list when you put it up for September, is that how it works?
Also, why does it say 2 pound weight loss at top, is that the aim for each week and 5 for the month (I know the maths doesn't work there but you know what I mean!)
Thanks for your patience, you've must've explained this loads! xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

I second that Lois, although I wince when I see how little I've shifted I'm still pleased I'm no longer gaining

The last chart (although dated Aug) is actually for the last challange that just finished. You are in the next one as I've seen your name on the list that Lois will work from.

Yes, when the next list begins you just need to cut and paste the last list in the thread and add your name to the bottom of it

Well it had to be called something. My perfect title would be 'weightloss? what's that?' but it's hardly motivational :rotfl: In reality it is all part of the making of small targets for yourself. I believe it was called the 2 lb weight loss club before they introduced the mini target of '5 lbs/month'
Thanks for your patience, you've must've explained this loads! x
Well done to all who've lost, it seems to have been a good month for most :j. Special congrats to Lois on breaking a stone barrier. :T
Actually just popped on to give notice that Morrisons have a BOGOF offer on a new product. Hartleys low calorie ready made jellies. No fat and less than 10 cals per tub. Easy to incorporate into any eating regime and not bad 'cos I just tried one. (I sound like a sales rep for the company :rotfl:) They are ideal for me as I always end up throwing away half the sugar free ones I make as they become dry and cracked on top before I can finish them off.0 -
well done to Bails, Rustynash and Starlight!!!!! keep it up. And hey nice to see people from the land of 40 shades of green
Im in Tandragee (yes just by the northern Tayto factory lol) although heading off to liverpool at the end of the month for a few yrs.
