    Good day for me today.

    SFD and LTW. :j

A neighbour that we take shopping whenever she asks popped over this morning with a big bowl of cooked chicken and some large cooked sausages that she had got in for some guests who didn't turn up. The dogs had a really lovely dinner tonight. I think they thought it was Christmas all over again :rotfl:

Need to start on my decluttering but I'm putting that off until tomorrow evening as my bath is calling me.

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

NSD 2 grabbed with both hands. And exercise session 2 too. Grain free and sugar free are now up to a mighty 3! Knitting is 3 fully done, with 1 more that needs stitching up and 1 that's only just been begun.

Full on day at work but a good'un. Saw one pupil re her hearing issues and ran some informal 'tests' with her. More to do later this week. Also had 2 kiddies re-do a speaking assessment that I had to record. Satisfaction all round.

Tomorrow is a spendy day. Library run, Mr S for g-f bits, Mr A for full food shop and ANOther shop for a bday present for a little friend. I do look forward to and enjoy my spendy days!!

    Evening All,

SFD and LTW day for me, am always far too tired on a Monday to go out and spend any money. DD goes to the childminder on a Monday so I have to get up at half 5 to get everything done before I get her up at half 6, then out the door at 6.45!
Won't be a SPD tmrw as we have playgroup (£2) and I've just realised my library books should have been back on Friday (9 x £0.17 x 4 = £6.12), can't believe I forgot them, I even wrote it on the calendar :(
Anyhoo, have got an avon SL coming round tmrw to sign me up, figure any money I can make, no matter how small, it all adds up and therefore is worth it. As I'm on my own, I can't work anymore hours or take a second job as I haven't got anyone to look after DD, and tbh being away from her for 4 days a week is enough for me.
So totals at end of the day:
    2/15 SFD's
    £5.49/£100 groceries incl cat food
    2/18 LTW
    0/£40 petrol
    0/30 donations/declutter
Planned declutter is not going to happen tonite as I'm far too kn*ckered, so will aim to get it done tmrw.
Good luck to all of you with 'challenging' OH's! My ex was financially irresponsible (and still is!) so I was constantly playing catch up and failing to make him understand why we needed to leave money in the bank! I think you all deserve a medal!!
    Have a good evening xxx

Hi everyone sorry only checking in for the first time now, must do better! Well I have paid £100 into my savings this week. Am aiming to have saved £4000 by the end of the year. Will also have to save in separate pot for school uniforms and christmas. Am going to put £20 away each week for those. Not going on any holidays this yr but will put some money aside for lots of day trips saying as I can drive now :j will need to save for all the ice creams at the beach.

I am going to aim for 12 SFDs this month, probably seems low to some but given that I only managed 6 last month I will be very pleased if I manage 12. Have got 2 already for sat and sun but went to tesco today as I had a voucher for £5 off £40 spend. I got a girl called jacks new book so am off to bed to read that. Hoping it will help get the grocery spend down. Should have more SFDs the rest of the week as I have no money :rotfl: goodnight all

    Evening all,

Hugs to all of those with infuriating OHs. I have one too, although he has been on his best behaviour for a few weeks now and it has been absolutely lovely. Not sure what has caused this change, but I am loving it :)

Today was a SFD as only had to pay for expenses on my work trip, and this will be paid back on my next payday. I walked past loads of shops and resisted the temptation :)

It was really nice to have a day out of school and doing some CPD :) Feels like a long while since I have done anything work related for me and not just for the kids. I wish I had the power to do more but being as this is the only course I have been allowed on in 4 years, I won't hold my breath.

I am also classing it as a LTW day as lunch was provided and I took full advantage of their hospitality ;)

No decluttering done today but did walk the dogs in between the course, dinner and lesson planning. Now just time to watch One Born Every Minute and then its bed time.

Hope you have all had a lovely Monday. Four days until the weekend :)

  • It's lovely reading the new thread but I shan't join this month - I am away for two weeks of March so nothing will be normal. I will still keep a close eye on everything and will join back in for April.

SFD number three,LTW but no de-cluttering tonight as i've worn myself out walking home from work, only three miles but all uphill and it's the first time i've attempted it since recovering from a rotten cold.

My DD informed me that she maybe moving in with her boyfriend at the end of the month as his parents are moving to France, this should cut down costs as she is living rent free to pay for her driving lessons or we could end up subsidizing both of them! Anyway we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Spendy day tomorrow with a top up shop and flowers for my mum's grave as it would have been her birthday tomorrow.

    Night all

    Well!

I need programmes like these for a wake up call now and then. I have a lot and need to be grateful for it. I am sat in my warm house, very cheap for £350 all in ( yes I don't mind sharing this) and on my own with a landlord that works away a lot leaving the house to me and I have a LOT of food in my cupboards!!! I have it easy.

Edwina Currie winds me up though - no wonder Jack Monroe had such a problem with her.... She has no clue!:o:o:o

Imagine having only a half can of kidney beans in your fridge and not eating for a few days..? There are some that perpetuate their own problems but many don't.. the ones that lose their jobs, are taken ill etc... But I wonder how these folk would fair if they had no debt?

Could you then live on a very lessened income if your money was all yours...? By "you" being Northern Irish is not directed at the reader. I am just saying this "you" in general. This is what makes me REALLY want to empower every single bl**dy person in the UK to start living for themselves...:j:j:j

But not because I think they have to - not at all. I am not standing on a pedestal here pointing fingers at the bad people in debt and shaking my head at the choices they have made in life! Oh no dear reader I am DESPERATE for every person to get out of debt to screw over the cra**y government that isn't looking after us and take Britain back. Back from the government that is growing from peoples debts.. yes I do not understand how everything intertwines but you can't say your debt is not a good thing for the banks...CC and whoever else...

They are earning off you and me to the point where I think they will never want people out of debt and DEBT "might" be keeping Britain afloat! I want everyone of you to be free of "owing" anyone, to be able to take a day off work when you feel like it (without getting into trouble with your boss of course:)) without worrying about what needs to be paid next month.....

Not sure this is even making sense but I want to empower people to live within their means not thinking they "need" more stuff, to live a simple existence, happy without debt and without desire for "stuff".... I think everyone has the ability within them to change their lives!!!

I am now watching "Can't Pay, We'll Take it Away".. it's like a nasty circle. You have debts, you can't eat.. you can't eat and no-one will hire you, you end up in debt.... Hmmmm this gets me annoyed to a certain extent.

Anyway... in keeping with this rant I have had an email from the Credit Union ( lovely lady ) who promised me a course a while ago.

On the 12th and 24th of this month I will be attending this...
."I am pleased to confirm that I have been able to allocate you a place on the NSA Money Mentoring course. The course leads to a Level 2 qualification in Peers Mentoring Skills from the Open College Network. The tutor and all materials that we’ll get on the day are being provided by The National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS), who in turn have been sponsored by Lloyds Banking Group. "

    Gotta start somewhere right?...:T:T:T
