NSD 1 grabbed with both hands! Dd isn't 100% so we skived off church/ kids klub to chill at home. Since breaking her collarbone, she's had rather flushed cheeks (tho as she's 6, I was wondering of this was due to back teeth coming through?). She's also been yawning almost non-stop (and we all know how catching yawns are! How many of you reading this now find yourselves stifling a yawn?!). Weird.
Operation kitchen sort-out continues. Decluttered some dodgy bottles of alcohol down the sink - should clear out any gunk residing there. It's very satisfying to see space appear. Will be different when I work on the insides of the cuphoards - guess I'll just have to leave the doors open to admire the insides! The next charity shop bag is ready, plus a box for freegle.

Afternoon tortoises!
Bit of spendy day here, but needed a birthday gift for my sister so had a nice afternoon in town pottering about. Birthday gift and card came in under budget so the change is going in the savings pot. A friend invited me to the pub but this is beyond the budget, have suggested they can come to mine for a few drinks instead. I've broken the 'no coffee shops' rule already, but spent nothing so I think this is ok? I had a stamped loyalty card (that actually expired in August, but barista didn't notice!) so got a free drink and a relaxing time catching up on my reading.
PheoniX I know what you mean about the cost of cards mounting up! I'm a Paperchase fan but they can be a bit on the pricey side, thank goodness for student discount. Will definitely be stocking up on stamps too!
Off to carry on with the decluttering now, need to get my head around Gumtree so I can get rid of my unused computer monitor.New graduate trying to get debt-free.
Make £5/day challenge: August £84.08/155
I owe £5400 (plus £34,000 Student Finance)

Hello everyone no.23 here.
So I have worked out that I am going to have 14 nsd this month, it may not sound many but I hope it will be more.
Food will be £25 a week and fuel will be £15 a week
I have been saving £20 a month towards a break I'm having in September, so that's been put away
Decluttering I have started with my clothes and there is a large bag ready to go to th cs, I will start the kitchen next.
SO
Achieved: 2 nsd
CC, I paid £50 over min. Payment
Transferred funds to various pots
Bag for cs
So a positive start for me.

Hello everyone!
Here I am again! My father in laws' funeral was last week! We had very difficult days but I am afraid life goes on! We have been left with an aching heart which we are taking care of it with understanding, care, compassion and above all love!
Ufff it has been such a short period of time that I have not been here and I feel i have lost truck of all my finances and indeed we had a very expensive month mainly travelling down south visiting the family and the hospital where father in law was in his final days.
Good news, I have been accepted at a university to do my Masters degree and I shall be meeting my supervisor to discuss my research project after the 10/3/14 as she is on holidays at the moment.
I have completed a few personal development courses that is going to enhance my career too! they were expensive but needed as it is going to be useful when I start my own business.
Positive regards to you all!No debts 🙌0 -
I think (no offence to anyone else on here) but family comes first and I would be exactly the same as you are Iwillsucceed. I won't have been keeping track of my finances either.
Hugs to you and your family.
So... I am afraid there was no check-in yesterday as I slept for it all then went back to work.
Still managed to spend money though. OH took my car and filled it with petrol but he put in £50.01 so I am over budget already!!!!!!!
Working hard on my diet... trying to avoid having all extra chocolate (apart from my one kitkat or fudge bar a day). Didn't really work today as I was at a 3rd birthday party so did have a bit of cake. But I am going to keep pushing forward.
Weigh day is Thursday so fingers crossed.
spend-free day: 1/20.

Evening All :hello:
Checking in today with a spend day as i have done our food shop today instead of tomorrow as want to get a run of SFD'S in (fingers crossed)
been reading posts and been inspired to do some batch cooking chilli is on as i type and i am going to do my Vegetable balti next and i have planned our meals for the week. :j
Shopping came in a £71.94 so have £3.06 pence to put in the pot :j ( forgot gravy so have to got to the shop so not as much for the pot)
OH and I are still undecided on the car and it is now going in for an MOT on Thursday to see what the damage will be (it's a very old car 1999 reg)
if it fails it's either go down to one car or get a car on finance (the car we have now is on finance and finishes April 2015), so we have a lot of thinking to do  ... nothing is straight forward.
But I am thinking of the positives as we have a lot to be thankful for and there are people in a worse position
Have a great evening all will check in tomorrow after work0 -
Day 2 and still no SFD. I am aiming for 20 which is allowing myself 1 spend day each weekend in March and 1 during the week for any top-up shops I might need. This then leaves me 2 floating spend days.
I used a spend day yesterday for my main monthly shop and I have enough food for the month with the exception of milk and fresh fruit and veg. Today I had to buy some flowers to take to the cremetoriam for my late partner as it was his birthday. I also picked up a couple of items I couldn't get yesterday.
So hopefully no more spend days until next weekend.
Batch cooking today so didn't get round to any decluttering but will start tomorrow

Hello Everybody
First SFD day for me today, DD and me went out for a long walk this morning before all the shops opened so I removed temptation! Spent the rest of the day rolling around with DD, and since she's gone to bed I've made some sodabread and used the last of the suspect veg to make a huge pot of veg soup which I can freeze. I've got loads of pasta sauces and soup already portioned up in the freezer so I should be well covered for work lunches.
Spent yesterday evening catching up with the accounts I do for a friend, will carry on with that tonite then I can get some money off him hopefully!
So totals so far are:
1/15 SFD's
£5.49/£100 groceries incl cat food
1/18 LTW
0/£40 petrol
0/30 donations/declutter
Will start on the decluttering tomorrow xx
