Sorry Mothernerd, can't believe DS3 is so ungrateful! I had to paint my own room and certainly would have been roped into help!

He needs to buy you an amazing Mother's day present or make you breakfast in bed. so there

What she said! His attitude to all your hard work stinks!

(will be back later to update properly, on phone at mo which is driving me nuts already!)

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning, morning.
Lying in bed at the moment as DH has got up to sort the kids out. Looking forward to quiet day but won't be SF, our printer blew the other day so we are getting a new one today, DH is collecting it as he is out this morning anyway and there is an Argoose nearby thus saving additional fuel.

Today we are having pulled pork, coleslaw, pitta bread and potato wedges so I will be making yet more bread today! Yesterday I made pizza dough, some rolls, a loaf and a cake for my dad to thank him for looking after the kids the other day while I went on my speed awareness course.

Other joys for today including changing the beds and cutting and sticking with the kids.

    Happy Sunday everyone!

Clippy_Girl - how much you saving for India?? And how long are you going for?

im going for 24 days :j:T I have budgeted i will need £3000 for flight, tour, spends, malaria tabs, vaccinations, visa, train to airport, cattery, general prep like sun lotion, first aid etc.. should be pretty accurate.

aprils money will be used for new fridge freezer, extractor fan and replacing other fence panels.

so starting to save from may and should have enough for the holiday with around £500 left over by september :)

so yesterday was a spend day as did food shop. just under £11.

also ordered my new fridge freezer on credit card as desperate to have it and sick of not being able to fit shopping in small one! payment will be due end of april which is when the money is budgeted for so will still consider myself debt free if have cleared dad debt on 31 march :) will then need to get an electrician to come and quote for new fan.

Just had a thought, have we had a post from thriftylass in the last day or so (I could have missed it) if not could the baby be putting in an appearance:j.

I am hoping for a SFD today but won't count my chickens just yet. DS is playing football this morning and DD is riding this afternoon. It is raining at the moment so if it carries on I might get organised and make a memory collage with them later as I did plan to do this over half term anyway.

I have a huge boneless pork joint in the slow cooker which will feed us for 3 main meals and a couple of lunches I reckon.

I might whip up a coffee cake today just as a practice run for mum's mother's day present.

Sorry, no baby just yet but the I still got two weeks to go :(. Wish it would hurry up. Friday was my last day at work but I get less chance to check in when I'm home.

Yesterday was a Spend day, zoo, storage for shed and big shop. Bought a few things to make loads of soup for lunches. Also had a wee leaving do at my bosses house with all the kids. Everybody brought a dish or too. Gonna miss my work colleagues, they're a lovely bunch. Couch day today as full of the cold and waiting for OH to return from his last "!!!! up" at a mates. Was tempted to phone him in the middle of the night and pretend my waters have broken :p.

The next few days will be SFDs too as I'll be busy in the house, nesting :D

Edit: oops must have have used a rude phrase for getting drunk and it changed to !!!, sorry

Kat - When you take out a Costa card they give you some points for free when you register it then you collect points as you go. I think I have only been a couple of times but have 260 points and there is a game on their facebook page to earn more points, I won 190 this morning which they tell me is enough for a ginger muffin and that is what I shall have as it sounds lovely.

I won 185 points which is apparently enough for a triple chocolate muffin :D Thanks for letting me know about that! I'll use it for a cuppa on my way to the airport next week ;)
  • Thanks dolly84 for the heads up about Costa - also won a muffin! Lots of travelling this week so that can be my train snack!

    Hullo me Torties :D

Quick check in to declare a Spend Day yesterday as planned. I spent £7.50 in total, £3 on parking in town and £4.50 on a Mothers Day card ready for March 30th. I got it from Clinton$ and also acquired a loyalty card where if you buy 9 cards the 10th will be free (or something or other). I must confess that buying cards is a particular weakness of mine and I tend to buy people nice quality cards for any occasion! I know people generally put them in the recycling bin a week later after receiving them (although being a sentimental soul I often find it difficult to get rid! :() so buying expensive cards is a waste of money in reality because cheaper cards convey exactly the same sentiments!

Lesson to self: Practice what you preach!!:p

I am utilising my wall planner really well and have yellow stickered all special dates like birthdays, Mother/Fathers day, retirement dates or any date that would involve a card and a cost! I note the persons name on the sticker and the cost underneath, for example the price of the card, stamp, money or gift.. Its proving to be a real eye opener so far as I have already spent a fortune and hadn't realised how much! And this is without what's to come including the individual cards I send at Xmas! :o Albeit mostly family or close friends! This definitely needs to change.. I have already agreed new arrangements with most adults that no presents or money will be exchanged for birthdays this year but my usual arrangements with the kids will stay the same.

I think I will bulk buy stamps in the next few weeks as :money:tells me that stamp prices are increasing at the end of March. This will come in handy especially for Xmas in 9 months time :santa2:. I generally use second class stamps and send early but I might buy a few first class stamps and larger second class stamps for the cards that are slightly over the standard size before prices go up!

Well I dont know what I'll get up to today, I will make it up as I go along but will aim for my first SFD :D Time to get out of bed me thinks!

    Have a relaxed Sunday folks
