Just wondering... why make the trip to actually see them? Sure it's nice to meet people you do business with, but it's not just the cost of the journey, it's also the time it takes to make the journey.
Reason for asking is that my MB came to see me at my workplace, (was quite a long trip for him), which in the end resulted in us having a chat and me signing some paperwork, but nothing that couldn't have been done via phone/email/scan to save him from making the trip.

Halifax has hiked all its rates today, presumably to slow down business flow as we approach 14/4, its M Day.I am a mortgage broker. We might was well vent our MMR issues in here.
Halifax has said it will not write past 67 without evidence of income in retirement, but doesn't intend to ask for more than the usual one payslip.
The affordability calculator is being extended to include maintenance, childcare, school fees, student loans etc.
We're trying to plan for site releases in three months, I wish they'd give us the new calculator now so we can "MMR-proof" our future business.I am a mortgage broker. I still think everything is going to be subject to tweaking when the lenders finally see what each other are doing...
Notice the slow down in application progression and all lead times are being pushed back and back across most lenders, so expect this to get worse as we go through the next month.

It is going to be interesting reading the threads on here when borrowers start 'getting advice' direct from Lenders.
Borrowers complain enough now with 2 X 90 minute meetings for an information only service.I am a Mortgage Broker

Our Halifax BDM was saying the other day 50% of what they do goes through fast-track. From next month, even if they only want one payslip, it's going to mean double the current workload at least.
No prospect of 0856 603 9009 becoming redundant until 4th quarter of 2014, or first quarter of 2015 either... :mad:I am a mortgage broker. Good afternoon Kingstreet,
You mentioned about Halifax will be adding those extras above to the affordabilty calculator come MMR. May I ask at the moment or pre MMR what do they include in their affordability calculator and how do they work it out?
Many thanks0
