Xbox one price drop.

I'm not going to copy & paste the stock response of would you be willing to pay any increase in price, because we all know it already.

What I will say is that you paid a price which you were presumably happy to pay, the price you paid represented the presumed value of the product at the time. That price had an associated premium because of the fact it was a new product and well, that's what happens when you're an early adopter of new technology. If it makes you feel any better (and it won't) I initially had it pegged for a price drop around July to coincide with the summer holidays, I didn't forsee it dropping this quick.

Agree we all knew it would go down in price. I for one thought maybe in a years time. But its the simple fact that's its only 5 months later i feel aggrieved.

Why would MS even consider giving you compensation? Prices always drop on games consoles, that's how it works unfortunately. If you couldn't hold out till prices dropped then that's too bad. You bought one when it first came out and prices were as high as they were ever likely to be.

I'm waiting at least another 6 months before I consider an XBox One or PS4 as I'm pretty confident they'll both be at least another £50-£80 cheaper in that time.

Do you think they should give you even more compo when they drop the price again?

Time to suck it up and get over it I'm afraid.

Its to do with the fact its only been 5 months dude. I knew it would go down but probably in about a year.
  • i feel aggrieved.

Why? Microsoft proposed a deal (ie, to sell you an XBOX for a sum of money) and you happily accepted that deal through your own volition. What is there to feel aggrieved about? Microsoft have held up their side of the bargain and you have held up yours.

Now, you're effectively asking Microsoft to change the deal that you were previously happy to agree to. It doesn't work like that.

The fact that it's five months is irrelevant. At no point in the "deal" you agreed to would it have been specified when Microsoft can or can't increase or decrease prices.

Only because it doesn't agree with what you want. ;)

No. Its to do with the fact Microsoft have only lowered there price cos ps4 are winning the console battle. Now Microsoft panick and drop price forgetting about people who invested early.

    Feel ripped off.

You paid a premium to be an 'early adopter' and have the technology first and before a lot of other people.

People have now missed that slot, and are paying slightly less to get what is now a mainstream/not-that-new-and-exciting console.

Unless you can give your five months of early use back to Microsoft, you'll be lucky to get the refund.

Feel sorry for the people who bought it the day before the price dropped and still don't get a refund of the difference.
  • Well, to be honest, it was a rather stupid question to begin with.

Why would they compensate people because the price has now dropped?

Compensate probably the wrong word. A gesture of good will for those invested early.

No, whatmichaelsays´ comment isn't stupid, but yours is.

Going with your theory that you should receive some form of compensation because the price has decreased on a product then surely everyone should be queuing up on the first day of the sales, waving their receipts for previous purchases in the air demanding the same. Does this sound reasonable? Of course not.

Well aye it does. Good shout. Im not suggesting that every price drop people should que but its been 5 months !!!!!!.

Then you second-guessed Microsoft and got it wrong.

You knew they were going to drop the price but you still went ahead and bought one anyway.

Microsoft will laugh you off the face of the planet if you ask them for compensation. True story dude!
