Xbox one recently got a price drop only a mear 5 months of its release. Will people who have bought it within the 5 month period be compensated.
Thanks hibs soldier

No, afraid not
Unless, of course, you...
a) bought online/over the phone/through post in last 7 days, and can return via DSR
b) The retailer had some form of price guarantee (not sure I've come across such a thing) or longer 'satisfaction guarantee'
c) You can charm them into returning the difference (not unheard of)0 -

Surely anyone who bought it on the day knew it would drop around 6 months after release, I did?0 -

Had Microsoft increased the price, would you be offering more to them as a gesture of goodwill?

Well that's a rather stupid comment.0 -

I'm not going to copy & paste the stock response of would you be willing to pay any increase in price, because we all know it already.
What I will say is that you paid a price which you were presumably happy to pay, the price you paid represented the presumed value of the product at the time. That price had an associated premium because of the fact it was a new product and well, that's what happens when you're an early adopter of new technology. If it makes you feel any better (and it won't) I initially had it pegged for a price drop around July to coincide with the summer holidays, I didn't forsee it dropping this quick.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
Why would MS even consider giving you compensation? Prices always drop on games consoles, that's how it works unfortunately. If you couldn't hold out till prices dropped then that's too bad. You bought one when it first came out and prices were as high as they were ever likely to be.
I'm waiting at least another 6 months before I consider an XBox One or PS4 as I'm pretty confident they'll both be at least another £50-£80 cheaper in that time.
Do you think they should give you even more compo when they drop the price again?
Time to suck it up and get over it I'm afraid.0 -

Only because it doesn't agree with what you want.

Well, to be honest, it was a rather stupid question to begin with.
Why would they compensate people because the price has now dropped?0 -

No, whatmichaelsays´ comment isn't stupid, but yours is.
Going with your theory that you should receive some form of compensation because the price has decreased on a product then surely everyone should be queuing up on the first day of the sales, waving their receipts for previous purchases in the air demanding the same. Does this sound reasonable? Of course not.0
