They took my bloody money

  • As a student I was short of cash the other day. So i entered my details in wonga, sunny and paydayuk to see if i would get accepted. I got accepted but I did not complete the process/ i did not sign the contract.
I know this because I did not click the button, no money was debited into my account and also i received no email from any of these companies.

But for some bloody reason some company called click4pay has managed to take 70 pounds from my account, money which I was going to use for my driving test on wednesday.
I called my bank, I was told that wonga, sunny and paydayuk were all attempting to remove money from my account. Also that they have passed on my details other companies. Hence why I'm receiving a phone call/email every minute.,

who the hell are click4pay ltd, and how can i get my money back :(.

Why didn't you just ask for increase in your student overdraft?

Also did all 3 accept you? I'd advise you to check your credit report via noddle.co.uk to check how many searches are on your CR

That £70 you paid sounds like a classic 'broker' fee.

In other words, you went on a web site where they guarantee to find someone to lend you money.

You fill out all the details, including your bank account details, and don't read the terms & conditions. They then fire those details off to loads of lenders to find someone who will lend you money and they charge you £70 regardless of if you accept any of the deals or not.

People make the assumption they're just going on a free comparison site when they're in fact going on a broker site where they're charged just for doing the search, regardless of if they take the offers up or not.

You'll need to go on the site and read the T&C's to see if you can cancel it and get your money back. Providing you do so within a certain time period and did not actually accept any of the offers you may be able to demand a refund under the distance selling cool off period laws.

Which company and which website? A secure URL just means your information will get from A - B securely, it doesn't necessarily prove who B is or what they're going to do with your information. Anybody can buy an SSL certificate and have their site look "secure".
This is everybody's fault but mine.

How did they get your bank details?

What do the terms and conditions from the website say?

Can you provide a link to the site so we can have a look?
    :hello:
  • Can you provide a link to the site so we can have a look?

Not sure how it helps, but here are links to the 3 payday loan sites the OP claims to have visited.

    https://www.wonga.com

    https://sunny.co.uk

    https://www.paydayuk.com

My guess would be that it's http://www.click4pay.net/, which appears to be a payment processor...

But it's a US based company. They also appear to own the .com site too.
