I don't know as I don't bank with them. All I can suggest is that you cancel DD tonight and see what happens tomorrow.Does this apply to natwest?
I also agree with AP007 - it is advisable to have DD's set up a few days after payday in case there is any problems with regarding your pay going into your account on payday0

If your MD was surprised, I think you may do better by speaking directly to him than trying to get a union member on site.
Good luck and hopefully you will get it resolved tomorrow.
Some one authorised the change so if the MD did not know someone should be getting a rocketing.
NEVER a good idea to have payments going out so close to payday don't do it in your next job.0

I have just cancelled all I can but the DDs for monday went on Friday from looking at the account. This has made me around 300 overdrawn, i have managed to cancel the rest of my DDs for the week. I dread to think what the bank charges will be..0

Oh and 100% of your effort tomorrow should be sorting this out
camp on the MD, payroll the manger that approved the change,
your normal day job can wait.0

You said on your 1st post that payday was 24th(tomorrow) but on this post DD's went out Friday (21st) so even if your Company paid you correctly tomorrow you would still have been in the same situation in racking up all these bank charges!!! On this basis your Company will not repay bank charges as they occurred before the official payday.I have just cancelled all I can but the DDs for monday went on Friday from looking at the account. This then for Friday was your mistake.

They are called for on the last banking day of the week which is Friday, yet do not come out until Monday. This is how Direct debits work that fall on a Monday.
At the end of the day, it is either the bills bounce and I get late payments and DD reversal fees or I get overdraft fees from the bank, simply either way I would be getting charged and it is pretty unavoidable.
I have printed off a screen shot of my OD and it clearly states these payments come on on 24/2/14 with this exact date next to them for when I go into the meeting.0
