I would happily have taken my money from up to the 24th, when I am going to probably be paying a hundred quid in late fees and bounced direct debits, that is another issue. WITH due notice, I could have changed these dates. Now I am out of pocket through absolutely no fault of my own.
then present the charges to the company to pay or lodge a formal compliant about being paid late unless there is something in your contact about pay when you reisgn.

I understand that. But I should have been given notice or paid up until the 24th. It isn't right to let me know at 5pm on a Friday when I have outgoings on the Monday and expect as per contract to be paid on this date.
So what did you say then at 5pm on Friday to them??

    Pretty much exactly the above.

My manager did it so smugly too.

I went to the car, took a breather and went to explain to the md. So called manager popped up again during me explaing the issue, although I don't think md fully understood the action being carried out and why. Asked the date I was leaving which is mid march and then looked a bit gone out and said we will discuss it on Monday with hr

I left it At that and tried to get on to my creditors and bills but it's been too late to do anything.

If you have online banking you could have cancelled the non esential DD's if they were to be taken from Tuesday onwards.

Monday is your normal pay date? Never have payments leaving your account on pay day. That's just silly.

They can't all be DD's can they? Unless you set them all up this way?

Even so I'd tell my company I want the charges and be sure the late payments to your creditors you have wont change your credit rating.

I know the lesson now, just seemed easier as I'd know exactly what I have left for the rest of the month.

I'll update tomorrow with what happens, thanks all

with some banks you can cancel them up to just before midnight on the previous day. This includes Sunday. As an example my bank which is Lloyds will allow me to cancel D.D. up to 23.59 hrs tonight for any that are due to go out tomorrow.

What you have left for the rest of the month is salary less expenses surely and if the DD and or SO come out they are likely to be of similar amounts each month

Still talk to the HR or MD etc and get them to show you in the contract where it says you can be paid on a different date.
