I do hope you are being premature in your assessment. A lot of the problems are surely caused by the sudden and unforeseeable rush of people getting out of H-L and seemingly most of us going to III.
Once it settles down things may be better but ... we mustn't expect the previous level of H-L service at III prices, even thought we may like that!0 -
fair enough le loup,
but unfortunately my impression goes beyond things that they can blame on HL. they seem to be able to have a conversation, then wait a few weeks, and then forget that & start again... and think that that is ok...
for example, i called re. fees, and the most efficient way to pay them. i will max my SIPP contribution this tax year, matching my salary to the pound. so, on their instruction, i made a payment Ref "SIPP Fees" to my SIPP, which I was assured would not be classified as a contribution. they now seem to have completely changed their minds, told me that i shouldnt have done that, and that it will be classified as a contribution afterall. the detail isn't necessarily what matters most, it's that they seem to be unable to operate coherently.0 -
i am speaking to them now, and am trying to go through things with them, and in fairness they are clear that some of their comments have contradicted others.0

....and now they've cut me off.0

Send a secure message to HL asking about the transfer and exit fees.
Received a response quite quickly.
They said they had recently sent messages to each of my fund managers asking them to transfer the units to ii - this can take up to 6 weeks and after that they will remove the funds from my account.
They will contact ii to transfer equities.
No mention of exit fees and I wonder if the "recently" was shortly after they read my message?
They've lost out through their delay. I was going to open this years isa with HL to keep it separate but suspect it would get confused with the transfer so have gone elsewhere.0 -
Recently is their favourite word. Why don't they tell us the dates?0
-
in fairness, once you get stuck into them, they are nice people up there in Glasgow. but the transition is a mess, and they are making their own mistakes, regardless of HL or anyone else.0
-
but how often do they send you prepaid envelopes?0
-
Never, in my experience.
However, I've heard that their favourite clients do ... and get an "x" at the end of private messages.0
