No P60

Just realised that I did not receive a P60 last year. I was made redundant in Feb, so was not at my last employer when the P60 would have been given out. I now possibly need it as my mortgage fix is coming to an end and would like to change mortgage.
Can I request one from the Tax office? Do I need one?

I am only trying to help

You will only get a P60 if you were employed/receiving a pension or receiving taxable benefit (JSA/ESA) at 5 April. They are given out by the employer/pension provider/benefit office not the tax office
If you were not in receipt of any of these after your job finished in February you will only have your P45 that your employer should have given you.
If you complete self assessment tax returns you can get SA302 from the tax office (HMRC), otherwise you can ask HMRC for a statement of earnings if you were PAYE only.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Thank you for your answers, quite simple really, but needed to put my mind at rest.
So if a mortgage provider requests one, I just tell them that I did not get one. My last P45 was from the benefits office as I signed on for a couple of months, then when I signed off, I was given a new P45, which my new employer now has - I am employed full time now, but also run a business as a sole trader.I am only trying to help :rolleyes:0 -
It depends when you signed on/off.
If you were signing on at 5 April you should have got a p60 from the benefit office.
The lender may not take your word for it that you do not have a P60, check with them what proof they require
eta ..... and depending on when your self employment started the lender may want proof of that too.
If you were self employed in 2012-13 (6 April 2012- 5 April 2013) you should have completed a self assessment tax return and shown all your income self employed/employed/benefits when you completed it. You can ask HMRC for a SA302 to give to the lender.
If you started self employment in 2013-14 tax year then the lender may want proof you have registered as self employed - they may want something like a letter from HMRC with your UTR number on it.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
