Hi, I see you've not been a member here very long so you may not be aware of the multitude of MSE articles that exist on reclaiming £1000s

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/

Check them all out - you could be due a number of windfalls

I've been reading on here for some time actually!
Personally, I'm of the opinion that people should read the small print a bit more and not expect this something for nothing culture that we have now got in this country.

Don't even get me started on PPI!!!

I think Aquamania responded to your post thinking you might be unsure why the OP was complaining rather than asking him directly on what basis he was trying to get charges refunded.

Up to £80 of unplanned O/D fees and returned item fees once in a 12 month period.
    True.

If the OP has been charged in the last 12 months then he can certainly claim up to £80 of it back.

Planned O/D fees and O/D interest you've got next to no chance though.

I've never heard of this before.

Do you have a source for your assertions?

(something a bit more reliable than you heard it down the pub ;))

That's completely at the Bank's own discretion and only if the OP still banks with Lloyds and certainly not for an historical twelve month period.

The OP cannot claim for a twelve month period beginning in 2010, for example; it has to have been the last twelve months."Hartdship" criteria still applies.

I think the Gingerfurball is merely relating his own experience and what he was told by the operator.

But reclaiming is not something for nothing - it's reclaiming money you have already paid out; no gain whatsoever.

    Same goes for PPI
(except you get interest on that money you spent and it tends to be a lot higher than you would otherwise have earned in a savings account over the last 5 years so so)

I think some people boasting about their recliaming success forget this. i.e. it was their money originally that they have now got back.

I did read that, but I don't see any reliable source for the assertions, hence the question :)

    Yes.

If you've had any unplanned overdraft charges or returned item fees, then up to £80 of charges can be refunded or waived once in a 12 month period.

Phone them up, ask for a refund, and you'll get it. You won't get another one for 12 months though.

    I didn't forget.

Look, it's no skin off my nose if people opt not to believe me. But if you've had unplanned O/D charges or returned item fees, call Lloyd's and you can get up to £80 refunded or waived once in a 12 month period.

I have checked the Lloyds published charges and see no reference to that. It is well known that staff will often refund an amount as a goodwill gesture to those that are not frequent offenders. Those staff may have a maximum amount that they are allowed to go to. So, you could well be quoting an internal maximum discretion but it doesn't mean it is an automatic right.
