Lloyds TSB Bank Charge Types

Hi,
I would like to claim back charges from Lloyds TSB. I have downloaded information and created a spreadsheet.
I now have different types of charges listed, I have searched and read through various posts on this forum and have read of varied responses/advice regarding what can be claimed.
The Charges I have listed are
UNPLANNED O/D FEES
RETURNED D/D
O/DRAFT INTEREST
ACCOUNT CHARGE
O/D USAGE FEE
I just want to be clear on this, some of the information I have read dates back over 5 years. What exactly can I claim?
Any advice is much appreciated.

Why do you think you can claim anything back?0

Nowadays, unless you fulfil the Bank's "Hardship" criteria , the Bank will not even consider refunding (some) recent charges. If you are in current Hardship, then the Bank may look at refunding charges from the last six months, but nothing older. Hardship means that you are currently in a spiral of charges and are struggling to pay essential bills and for food.
If you do complain of Hardship, the first thing the Bank will do is examine your statements looking for things like subscription TV, gym membership and payments to restaurants etc. If you have these luxuries, you will be deemed not in Hardship.
In addition, you need to still be banking with Lloyds in order to get anything back at all.
I suspect the spreadsheet you've created is a waste of your time...0 -

On what basis would you be complaining?I have searched and read through various posts on this forum and have read of varied responses/advice regarding what can be claimed.
Have you read any of the posts made after 2009? If so, you would realise that you cant complain about those charge now.
As mentioned above, current financial hardship, first time errors (goodwill refunds) or incorrect application of fees are the only areas that banks refund nowadays.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Any advice is much appreciated.Q. What charges can I try to reclaim?
We're talking about charges and related costs for going beyond your overdraft limit, or bounced cheques and direct debits. Traditionally these were about £35 per transaction, but can now range from around £5 up to £35.
Bank account monthly fees for packaged accounts are not part of this (but may be reclaimable under different circumstances, see the Reclaim Packaged Accounts guide). The rules are also different for credit cards, see the Credit Card Reclaiming guide. You may also want to see the Bank Charges Comparison tool to see how your bank's charges compare.
...
Q. How far back can I reclaim?
We're certainly talking years not months, though there are varying views on how many, and you'll probably be asked to prove your financial situation for the full time you're claiming for. Don't worry if you haven't kept old statements, you've a legal right to access them (see below).
The Ombudsman suggests claiming as far back as you like, and it will decide whether or not all or part of your claim can be considered. We believe it's more popular than not to only be paid part of your claim, though.
Technically the Ombudsman can only help with claims within three years of when you realised there was a problem, so if you've been waiting, claim now. If you end up in court, normally the Statute of Limitations Act says you can only claim for something within six years of the event in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and five years in Scotland.
In many ways, this six years is probably a good rule of thumb for putting a complaint to the Ombudsman. But if you had substantial charges before that, there's no harm including them.0 -

Hi, I see you've not been a member here very long so you may not be aware of the multitude of MSE articles that exist on reclaiming £1000s

Check them all out - you could be due a number of windfalls :beer:0 -
Wish I hadn't asked!

At least you know now that it would be a waste of time (unless you are in current financial hardship). Maybe look at some of the areas that are currently possible to get money back as Aquamania says.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The OP cannot claim for a twelve month period beginning in 2010, for example; it has to have been the last twelve months."Hartdship" criteria still applies.0 -
Moneyineptitude wrote: »That's completely at the Bank's own discretion and only if the OP still banks with Lloyds and certainly not for an historical twelve month period.

True.
If the OP has been charged in the last 12 months then he can certainly claim up to £80 of it back.
Planned O/D fees and O/D interest you've got next to no chance though.DEBT FREE!
