Why do I always get the nice CS staff?

What really pi$$e$ me off the most is that I get myself all worked up about what I am going to say, possible responses, what I will say if they dare say such-and-such to me, how I will demand to see the manager ... so adrenalin flowing I approach the CS desk explain the situation and what does the flamin b*t*h do ... flamin well says 'certainly sir we will just change that for you now'.
I read loads of vents on this board and now wonder if I am unlucky to always get the nice CS staff. I have no less or no more issues than anybody else but whenever I go up to CS, I explain the problem and they usually treat me courteously and efficiently. yes you get the odd one who is obviously not having a good day .. but then I make it my job to somehow get her to smile before she has finished with me .. and I usually succeed.
Do I always get an aplogy? Who gives a rats a$$ .. I am not one of those saddos who think that end all of any situaiton is an apology ... or worse still those who do get one and then complain it is not enough .. it takes two for an apology to be acceptable .. one person to make and the other to be gracious enough to accept at. My aim is to get whatever issue I have resolved.
I generally find that CS staff respond to how they are being treated ... if you don;t think you are being treated well then you should start thinking about how you are treating them.

I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!

Spot on, Ive never had any problems, I think if you treat them with respect they will treat you with respect. They are human and just doing a job0 -
Well said, I've found you get a lot further being extremely polite and firm than going in all guns blazing (I've done that before now) Always best to wait till you've calmed down a bit before you tackle them.0

Couldn't agree more. Also when you get a call centre, note their name and call them by it, makes them feel human to
good plan, i wish i could spell the ones that CS frm three give me..... :rotfl:If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.0 -
Exactly. Just the other day in another thread I wondered how come I've brought things 2 or 3 tiimes a day and never had the problems other seem to get, some weekly.
I am a strong believer, although it doesn't go down well here, that people often cause their own problems, often through attention seeking, and have no awareness of it. I have also worked in retail for some time and constantly observe this.0 -
Well said Ivan.
You'll find that it's Tesco that seem to take a lot of peoples' anger too judging by this board. If people didn't think they were so above the cretins that worked there then they might get a better response from the people they're dealing with.
I too have never had a bad experience (although tempting fate as I'm about to ring BT), probably because I'm never out to get someone sacked nor compensation.0 -
LOL Ivan - I know what you mean!!
Many a time I have got myself all worked up over some mistake that a company has made, and I am all geared up to make a complaint....then I get someone really helpful on the line, and I can't be angry anymore. As long as the prob is sorted, that's all that matters.
In the end, being pleasant will further a cause much more than getting someone's back up.:DCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Just after easter I had some clothes to take back to the store (MIL bought them for ds instead of an easter egg but they were too small) I didn't have the receipt but thought that it would be ok because all I wanted was to exchange them for a bigger size. Waited my turn at the till in the clothes section, explained what I wanted and all the girl on the till said was "downstairs" I asked what she meant and she rolled her eyes and said really sarcastically "the customer service desk is down stairs" Went down stairs waited in line for CS desk, was told there that I had to take them up to the clothing department  explained I had already been up there and was told to come down there. Was told that was wrong, and they could do an exchange in the clothing dept. Went back up stairs and before I could get a word out of my mouth the girl on the till snapped "I told you to go downstairs I can't deal with you here" I certainly don't think that all tesco staff are beneath me, I have worked in shops most of my life and try my best not to be rude to anyone, but there really are some people working in shops that are rude, bad tempered and really not cut out for the job.0 -

Why is there a nice thread on the vent board?
Huh? Why?
Its just not necessary!

I come across to the vent board to giggle at peoples vents and find people saying 'nice' things.
Its just not on.
I dont know what this site is coming to.
And then, to top it off, you're all being nice to the OP.
OMG - what is the world coming to
     :mad:Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
