    Morning All

A big Happy birthday to everybody celebrating today.

Today is going to be busy, loads to do first need to get some housework done. DD is making it extremely difficult to get anything done at the moment spectacular tantrums and wanting my attention all the time. DH is at home today so hopefully between us we can get the house shipshape.

I also need to go shopping on my own as I had to abandon the trolley half way round the supermarket yesterday and finally I'm going to my MIL to try out her new steam press, ironing is a complete nonstarter at the moment as DD want the iron all the time and by the time I get her to bed I'm exhausted. I've asked on freecycle for a toy iron and board but no response yet.

I better go and get on and make DH breakie then I can entice him out of bed.

    Have a good day everyone

Only just found this and could have been greeting all @4.29h, when I began reading. Yes, I too have completed a mud-mow of sodden grass, since it did not stop growing while I shot off to France 3 days after getting back from NZ. And now Wimbledon. Missed Chickens on Freecycle, but still hoping and trying to resist Hobnobs vs Anzac Bickies bake-off inspired via another thread. Anyone for Lamingtons and Honey Bubble Snaps? Chocolate crackles?
Perfect party food for all today's birfdays.

Many Happy returns to...deep breath...Kyles DS, Amies OH & Miss Flittersnoop - hope you all have great days.

Mioliere - in Universal Studios there is a donkey charachter that talks & sounds just like proper donkey - he was soo rude and funny we were in stiches. Have a lovely photo of DD with him she is laughing so much.

Anway - dark and miserable here today, already had a couple of bursts of rain - would love to get all the rain out of the way today so the school fete has a chance tomorrow but we will see. Feeling quite motivated today, thinks is because OH is taking the kids out later so will have some lovely peace and quiet. So far have - deep cleaned kitchen worktops, cleaned inside of fridge, 1 load of washing dried and folded another in the machine. Loads more washing to do but will just see how the drying goes.

Just about to dust the front room, swish the bathrooms and hoover landing and stairs. Will hoover and wash the kitchen floor after everyone goes out so its got a chance of staying clean for 2 minutes.

Dinner tonight is grilled pork chops, sausages j pot and sweetcorn - need to send oh to get more veg so can have roasted veg too.

    Have a great day.

I'm pretty bored tonight. I suppose I could find something to do, but think I'll veg out on the puter. DD & DH are watching some blood thirsty movie.

Kyle How's Lorenzo going atm? No more wake ups at night I hope.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Morning all.........and a wet soggy one it is too...............

Happy birthday to all the birthday people, and get well soon to any one who is poorly (((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))) to any one who needs one.

Its chucking it down outside, so a stay in day I think.......I have planned to do some sewing, just stripped the bad and put everything in the washer, will have to wander down in a mo and stick it in the dryer, might iron it later, I will have the iron out to sew anyway, so might as well.

My free measuring cup arrived today, will be great for measuring small amouts of water etc............no chance of it being used for soap powder, I use a measuring cup for that with a line marked on the side!!!!!!!!!!!

Right off for now.................may be see y'all later..........
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Morning all.

Queenie Hello xxxxxxx Your son wasn't far off with his definition really. A !!!!!! (and slattern) was originally someone who didn't keep their house clean.
Catowen What a great idea! I'm going to suggest that to my DSD at some point. Her eldest son has a differeent dad and name to her LO and her bump. It doesn't matter now, but when they are all at school it might be nice for them to have the same name, and this would be a really good way to do it.

Pouring with rain here, so no gardening today :-(. Was up very late last night at a friend's 45th wedding anniversary party: that's two late nights in a row, and although yesterday's didn't involve any alcohol on my part (guess who was driving!), I'm absolutely wrecked this morning. Was thinking of going to see Shrek, but I can see me dozing off.

So, am in a bit of a grump, and am trying to shake myself out of it.

This morning I divided Stanley, fed both halves, and will be making ciabatta with one of them. I meant to do this last night, but I forgot. As he needs about six hours to digest his feed before I can use him, we won't be having ciabatta with dinnner tonight..so we're going to have tonight's Bolognese tomorrow instead.

I'm going to use the BM to make some hot crossless buns in a mo. I have been fantasising about them all last week when I was having my diet week. I'm tired, grumpy, and I'm GOING to have some today!

WM on with one load, have a couple more to do, so need to dig the airers out. Will have a quick flick through the house to straighten everything up, but am not planning on doing any cleaning. I will need to sweep the floors though, as we've been traipsing garden through the house

Right, I need to make some coffee or something.

Congratulations, commiserations, Happy Birthday, <hug> - please take as required. I've read the thread and I know they are needed, but today my brain just hasn't remembered who needs what.

Oh, yes, except, Aime I'll bring hot crossless buns to the party.

    I'll pop back later.

    Morning All

Happy celebrations everyone, we seem to have a lot fromthe quick scan I did of the start of the thread.

Think my head/body may be a little too delicate from partying again today, even virtually! We went out last night with 3/4's of Donny I think, 85 of us finished yesterday, only 60ish left now, at its hey day 5,000 worked there!!

Today marks the start of our retirement! Last night I think the "pub" red wine fell out with me, we then went for a really nice meal, and I dont think they mixed - IYKWIM. Brought home majority of my main course wrapped up in foil, far too goo to leave fish in a sauce (sory head cannot remember which) which DS who was our chauffeur for the evening quickly demolished as soon as we got home! DH who had been looking out of the restaurant window looking for DS, turned his back to the candle on the window cill and caught his shoulder on it, as it turned "hot" he realised something was wrong quickly came back to the table and our friends quickly patted him out! OMG he has a lovely burn on his shoulder, luckily though not a deep one and not paining him.

Think we may remember our retirement. Especially as I received a gorgeous bouquet for the stores lads who reported to me, together with a floral display from another close friend, and I had already received some flowers from another friend earlier in the week as she was going on holiday, plus wine, and card galore!

Now I must go and try to find the tax disk I have but mis-laid!!

    Take care

morning all and a best wishes for all the birthday boys and girls
Phoned the insurance people this morning to check on washing machine claim and am told that the cost of repair exceeds the cost of the appliance so they have sent me electrical vouchers for argos - not happy - it's only the brushes on the motor and now i must wait for the voucher and then order a new machine but i don't really want one from argos. Anyway the upshot is that it's back to the s*dding hand washing for a while yet. I must have a look at what martin thinks about extended warranties before deciding what to do - i would rather have the cash and maybe buy a second hand machine. My dd has one that has been going for years now that she paid £50 for. I have also been looking at the wonderwasher http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/shop/Detail.asp?ProductID=644 as a make do. This is making me think about laundry a lot though - when we had the recent thread about laundry i was one of the ones who washes everthing after a single use - now I'm sorry

exoh arrived three hours late last night to pick up dd - i asked if he couldn't have pulled over and sent me a text and he blew right up - well dd was worried that he was squished on the motorway and had been crying for the last hour so pardon me for being unreasonable.

    have a great day

If they are vouchers you can buy what you want stef, and maybe pay for the brushes?

Try discussing it with them though, saying you have been offered a second hand one, can you have a cheque to the value of the vouchers?
