Forgot to mention earlier ( look away now if you are easily offended ) ... was messing around with the lads earlier in the week, I got the dictionary out, chose some words/phrases at random and they had to see who knew the definition and who could come up with it the fastest.
One really caught my eye and I was curious to see what they came up with - "basic slag"
Quick as a flash (and *very* sincere!) d11yo said: "Typical Housewife!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
"Ah, so you think your Mum's a basic slag then, son?" :rotfl:
 Old Styler? Basic slag??The mind boggles
Ok, in fairness to him, he did say he thought it was an old fashioned term; a bit like in the old days "queer" meant 'wierd' and "gay" meant 'happy'. (That's his story and he's sticking to it).~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

dannahaz, I ate pie and chips yesterday so I had some fat calsShame it was far too many and of the wrong type :rotfl: I've got some trout from Bibury trout farm - bought on the day it was fished yum yum, and some tins of tuna so that should get me started with the good fats
It's raining here so I won't be doing much washing, loads of ironing to do though. Then I have to clean out the rabbit and piggies, dust, hoover, and list some cards on Ebid (please will someone bid, I don't get many online sales  ) then it's fish for lunch and I'm spending the afternoon catching up with this week's CSIBulletproof0 -
Goodmorning everyone,
Went into town early this morning with DD today to get a few supplies. Got home around 3pm  weary but happy. I now have to dye her hair tomorrow & hem some new clothes she just *had * to have. Took Benny for a walk with DH after I packed away and had a cuppa. Found a wild passionfruit so we picked them all off.I will get the pulp out and freeze them once I have the energy.
Happy Birthday to those celebrating.
GR Hope you get through the day OK and not too tired. Best wishes to your DH for a speedy recovery. With you being Nursey I'm sure he will.
Hope you all have a lovely Saturday. ByeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Good morning everyone,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR AMIE,KYLES DS1, MISS FLITTERSNOOP AND BEARDS LO!!!!
GR - Hope your OH is feeling better now xx
re Shrek - we loved it too, my favourite bit is when Donkey says hes 'all exposed and nasty' !!!
Well, its horrible weather here today, so would everyone please wish for it to clear up by 4pm today - as thats when my best friend gets married!!!! Im being one of their witnesses, something ive never done before, so im just as excited about that, as the actual wedding!
DS is meant to have a football match at 12, but im waiting for the call to say its cancelled (well, i hope it will be) Just in case it isnt, im going to spend the morning being dirty and smelly - will shower after spending 2 hours in a dirty, muddy field!!!! Dont want to turn up at the church covered in mud!!!
Knew my childrens dad being nice wouldnt last - they have always kept his surname, but in the last couple of years, they have said they want my surname - so i went to see what we could do, and the solicitor said we could compromise and add mine to his. Anyway, wrote to him to say thats what they wanted, and he has sent a snotty email back saying he doesnt agree! - well tough on him, we are doing it anyway, we arnt removing his name, just adding mine, so if it went to court (especially as its what the children want, and by the time it got to curt,, DS would be 11, which is the age they listen more to the child) they would say i havnt removed his name, so nothing he can do!!! I would understand if we were taking his name away, but he is just being awkward.
Right, now thats off my chest (im so angry he is such an a**e) im off for a cuppa and some breakfast. Hope everyone has a lovley day.
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning All
I've been up ages, had a restless one last night. Been busy at work, exams are finally finished for our school :j , but still doing reports and the timetables for next year.
DS had his report yesterday and he's done really well despite all the time off he had with his 2 bouts of chicken pox and problems at home. I was really pleased. We're expecting his SAT's results next week, got no idea how he's done.
He had an induction day at the "big" school on Wednesday and he loved it and can't wait to start in September now, I can't believe my "baby" is going in September it come round so quick!!
DS is out with exOH today, so that free's me up to go shopping and do the cleaning on my own. It really raining bad here today, glad I managed to cut both lawns last night while it was still dry.
Anyway must dash need to get to chemist to get my "nutrition" drinks, hope these taste better than the last lot I had, Doctor says they nice but he would anything to get me to drink them!! :rotfl:
Have a lovely day to anyone that celebrating and hugs to those that want/need them.

:hello: morning everyone
happy birthday to all birthday people..Theres a lot of birthdays today, hope you all have a great one.
Queenie.. theres nothing like having little feathered beauties about is there? I just couldn't see myself without my darling hens..They are soooooo funny. Ive got a broody at the moment and she just does the most strange things...jumping onto the dogs back...clucking at top of her voice.. its hilarious. I usually get a massive double yolker off her when she gets back into laying again:D
Well its peeing down here so im glad i dont have much washing to do.I really needed to be out in the garden mowing the lawns and cutting the hedge but theres fat chance of that with this dreadful weather.
My dad has just phoned to say hes on his way over with some wood for me for my fence. Have been needing to get a fence up to contain my darling hens in the bottom of the garden so i can grow veg etc. Its impossible to do that with hens about as they scratch them up, eat them and dust bathe all over them so nothing gets a chance to grow.
DS is off to his dads at 11 o clock so will be getting on with the ironing and will be doing a list and meal planner for the next week.
Hope you all have a nice saturday
