Out of interest, is paying on the 1st strictly OK? Or does the current tax disc technically expire at midnight on 28/2, such that purchasing the replacement online on 28/2 (after being paid) would be the 100% correct way to do this?0

What are my options besides bank of mom and dad?
Pay on credit card? But pay off as soon as bill comes inRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

I think I'll phone the dvla and see what they say because their fines are all automated now, don't want a fine.
Buy it on the 28th then?0 -
I think you are worrying about nothing
you get paid on the 28th February and on sat 1st march go into the post office and tax your car
your tax dsic runs out on the Friday and you re tax it on Saturday you wont get a fine for that0 -
once more. its due on the 1st
So if you get paid on the 28th,where's the issue?
My tax disk expires on the 28th. I have a dvla letter in front of me stating the same. Also... It's not fake.
I won't wait for an apology, but just assume I'm not completely stupid.
Anywho I got it figured out now, it's sorted.0 -

You said 27th a couple of posts before, wish you'd get it right.
And it's midnight on the 28th so as already stated just tax it on the morning of the 1st - what don't you understand about that? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Just risk it, If it is only one day over, I am sure you will be okay. I have done it many times.0

Technically, according to the DVLA, if you tax it online up to midnight on the day it expires you can still drive the car while you are waiting for the disc to arrive. Do it online on the 1st and you have to wait for the post.0

Poor advice, I'm afraid. I paid for something at the post office last month by cheque, and the cheque went through my bank account the same day."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry.
