I'd really like to join in this thead, if that's ok?
My partner and I usually have a target of around £300 per month between us, but it seems high for just 2 people (and sometimes we go over that anyway!), so I'd like to get better control of our outgoings.
I've already spent 212.22 (our of 300) for this month, and although the house is well stocked right now, I'm going to have to be careful over the next 2 weeksAugust extra earnings:
- 3x £5 Amazon vouchers (Swagbucks)0 -
OK, I've done a wee shop at Tescimos and spent a HUGE £13.99
I was walking around with my calculator on my phone, and when I picked up a loose leek, I went and weighed it and calculated the cost lol...turns out I over estimated the cost of my leek by 5p! :j
So my total for Week 3 in May is £37.31/£40 I shouldn't need another shop before Saturday when I get my next weekly budget.
I've got in carrots, celeriac and onions for a nice homemade soup...going to add some curry paste to that and chillis.
I've found some tuna/mackerel/sardines in my store cupboard that I am trying to run down to empty, so that will be a few lunches over the rest of the month!
I may have to up my budget next month if I run my store cupboard down, but by then I will be hawk-like in the Old Style boards looking for Store Cupboard essentials! :rotfl:2024 Challenges- Grocery Budget (January £0/£300)

Budget blown.
Down to a combo:
Long month for me.
No ys.
Store cupboard low. Oh well. Planned now until end of month and will have some extras in freezer for beginning of next.
I kind of have a top total of 300 in my mind every month so as long as we are under that I feel ok. X0 -

another £1.80 spent today - milk for DS1, and greek style yoghurt for me which I plan to use with some of the stewed apple that's lurking in my freezers (hence making more space in them
)
Now 45% of the way into the month with 58% of my budget gone.
Might try rearranging freezer contents a bit tonight / tomorrow morning. I'm eyeing up the A1di Super 6 rhubarb (stew and freeze), but OH likes ice-cream with crumble and I don't currently have enough space in any one drawer to put a tub in though I reckon I've plenty if I have a game of freezer shuffle.Cheryl0 -

Nsd today. Eaten a lot of junk today though - stressful week at work!
I've worked out that I need to spend about £22 on pet food and loo rolls, which will leave me with about £18 for the rest of the month, ie two weekly shops. Given that my last two shops were each £18, I think I'll have to be super-frugal from now on...
At least I have loads of stuff in. Think I'll spend a bit of time rejigging the meal plan for the next few weeks!
