£38.83 spent at AF - got loads particularly the eco bags, as they haven't had these in for ages and only got one last time. They are brill for shopping, as the handle means the bag doesn't dig into your hand. However, i haven't included these in the total, as technically they aren't grocery.

£41.59 at Tesco incl a kg of Tetley teabags (440) for £7.99, 2kg of brown rice and toilet rolls and other miscellaneous bits.

I really need to not spend a bean now, unless we've actually ran out ie..... milk. Otherwise, it's looking like i am really going to struggle to hit target; unless i can do a few £25 shops with a £1 delivery cost for heavier stuff, and top ups instore.

I've just worked out my finances for July onwards and I think, if I have done it right, that I need to cut my grocery down by £60 so can I be a pain and amend my figure to £320. If I can do this then we should be ok and have some emergency money left for savings. I'm going to start Thurs even though I have enough at the moment so I can iron out the wrinkles by July.

Has anyone seen the buy 4 for £5 at Asd*? I'm getting an online shop delivered on Thurs and I've ordered Tetley Tea (80), Kenco Coffee (100g), Heinz Beans x 4 and Chopped tomatoes x4 for £5 saving £4.28 - I think that's pretty good ^_^ All stuff I need too.

Haven't had time to update for a day or so but spends are now at £75.39 which is fine for the budget.
Tonight we had a small plough mans type meal and yesterday was grilled plaice with a large salad.
Have taken a small pork loin out for tomorrow but not sure yet what will do with it. Needs to be something DH will like as he not eating much yet since coming out of hospital.
We have a new A$da opened not too far away so intend to take a look before too long.
Managed to get Nigel Slater's kitchen diaries II in the library today so will be taking that off to bed with me tonight to look through.

I am sorry to say I am going to bow out for this month as I am all in a muddle. OH has been buying the top up shops and won't tell me how much and as its out of his money who am I to argue. On the other hand I have been paying for meals out which normally OH pays for out of his money. These have been paid for from my personal spends the total of which is now higher than the grocery budget. You can perhaps see why I can't give proper GC totals. I will have a rethink for June and join again if I can bring some order into the chaos.

    Keep on keeping on folks.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.
  • A few NSDs to add but will be doing a large shop today. Rumours abound here about a coffee shortage so will stock up. Think I will go back to buying the green beans and roasting my own, works out at about half the price, and I can roast to the degree I want.

Also busying searching 2nd hand shops for an old fashioned coffee perculator that will sit on top of my woodstove and perc away. There are plenty of expresso machines, but very very few percs.
  • Spent much more than I wanted when shopping at the weekend. It was that bad that I've only just plucked up the courage to update my signature. I'm two thirds into my monthly budget and we are only half way through the month. I've got a very small weekly spend target for next week before pay day a week on Friday and I will do as much as I can to achieve this. If I do, I should have a modest amount left for the following week which should take me to the end of the month.

Clever meal planning and focus should get me back on track.

£8.83 spend today and we actually managed to stick to our list!
GC: £40 a week. Sticking to my budget, but never remembering to post in the relevant thread.
Probably buying toiletries that I don't need, as I can't resist a "bargain."
