Can you put me down for £500 please. This will be for 2 adults, 11 year old, 9 year old and the dog. Plus my mum will be visiting from 17th! DD1 is a veggie too. My budget includes all cleaning/personal care items also.
Have found shopping a Waitrose on way home from work on a Monday afternoon has been working for last few weeks and meat bulk bought for month from butcher and frozen. Our biggest problem is the "munchy" trips to local shop and coming out with £10 of junk in the basket. Hoping once kids back at school and gym restarted this will be a thing of the past - or will start writing up amounts being wasted in red on calendar and total up at end of month!.0 -

I'm in for May, but until I know my final total for April, I won't know how much I have for May, as I think I'll have a roughly £20 overspend, for which I'll need to compensate in May
.
Will follow both threads until May 1st.

Hello, I've been lurking on MSE for ages and I'm finally about to start my DMP journey so the thought of not having the option of sticking a few bits on the credit card at the end of the month is no longer there!
I have been tracking my spending recently and would like to set a starting budget of £120 for May please - my aim is to keep it under £100 but have £20 contingency! This is for me and DS who is 6 and includes cleaning/washing stuff and cat food.
On payday I will withdraw the cash and keep it in a separate purse - this is something I have never done and think it will help focus my mind!
I shop once a weekish in Aldi so this should be doableDMP journey about to begin...
£14,500ish to clear:eek::jTime to get my life back!:j0
