Abbey/Santander application - Delay

Do you not get access to MATS to see your progress, and emails/texts sent at each stage?0
-
That's what I'm worried about, ours is scheduled for Wednesday 26th and then at least another 2 week wait after that. Do you wish you'd used someone else now?
One of the MA's on here made the point that anyone with a leading offer is likely in the same state RE too many applications.
What's done is done, and restarting with someone else will likely just cause more issues.
I just hope its done shortly; I would like to exchange prior to going to NYC for work for a week and a half (5th March!!) otherwise signing things remotely could be "fun" (My solicitors haven't quite got the hang of this here internets thing - I send them an email and get a response via mail! Although I guess there is something to be said for having everything in writing!)
I walked into branch today, chased the MA, she promises me she will check Monday as to where we are at.
@ drdpj - MATS? you what now?0 -
It's the online system that tracks the progress of your application. If you go direct to Santander you get a link which you can use to upload documentation and it shows which stage of the process you're at -
Appointment booked Application pack sent Application documentation received Application passed to underwriting Underwriter decision Application passed to Mortgage Centre Application offered Funds released Application completed
You also get a text and an email each time you pass on to the next stage. AFAIK at the very least your mortgage advisor should be getting updates through the same system if that's the route you've taken?
(You can also see how quick they're processing things here: http://www.santanderforintermediaries.co.uk/content/our-service)0 -

Nope not got any of that. Maybe as I applied in branch... MA has been out of the branch for a day or so, says she will check Monday.
But we are still within the 12.8 day timeframe if that's from valuation receipt...0 -
I got a text on the day they received the valuation (which was the day of the valuation itself) saying that the mortgage had been approved and was in the post  - I'd go have a poke at the person in branch... (the 12.8 days is from full application receipt)0

What about those going via an Independent Mortgage Broker? We cannot look online and this adds to our torture. Any suggestions?0

Hi Kingstreet,
Would you say that process is typical for most lenders?
Particularly Virgin?
Thanks0 -
Had some progress, although apparently our solicitor isn't on their panel. Have supplied Santander with the panel number now, it really frustrates me when it is probably someone not using their brain which causes delays. Grr.0
