SAGA Magazine

I think they're nothing more than a travel agent/insurer masquerading as an oldies friendly organisation. I read the mag every 4/6 months when they send it for free and ignore their junk mail. They're far from cheap for holidays/travel or car insurance in my humble opinion.
I get more out of half an hour on this great site than a lifetime with Saga0 -
I get lot's of junk from SAGA too even though I'm sure I've never requested anything from them and I could never afford it anyway,
is there a way to stop it?Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -

I agree with oxter.
I subscribed to Saga mag for 1 year.
Stopped it because everything advertised is overpriced.
They must think because you are getting on a bit, you must have money and don't care how you spend it.
When my mag came, I used to take the wrapping off it and hold it over the rubbish bin. A load of literature would fall straight in to the bin. Why on earth do they waste so much in these resources??????????
It also depressed me reading articles and adverts on writing wills, paying for your funeral, care homes, mobility aids and on and on etc.

I am really surprised by all these negative comments. I subscribed using the Major's thread ( don't half miss him!)( even tho I am only just inside the age group
) and consider it a very good £5 worth.
I think its a great read every month with lots of articles aimed at my age group, so much so, I have wondered whether older readers are now disappointed by it. I'm not interested in the ads just the articles, letters etc which I really enjoy.
I also have my car insured with Saga and have not noticed any excess junk mail - all of which I recycle anyway,so that's ok environmentally.
I highly reccommend the magazine

I haven't bought a darn thing from them in over fifteen years. I've asked to be removed from their database three times.
I *still* get junk mail from them.

Grr!
I had a problem with junk mail and a friend recommended this site:

Takes a few weeks to be effective I think, but maybe worth a try?0 -

Yes I quite enjoy the letters and articles, too and am able to ignore the advertising. It also has an excellent crossword (which I can rarely finish
)

May I suggest you change to the YOurs magazine, far far better than Saga, a brilliant little monthly, and a lot cheaper than Saga, definitely for the over fifties, and lots of money and rights info in it as well as music, old times etc, just a fantastic magazine, all my friends have it now, best wishes oap0
