Yesterday the post office left a note to say a package was waiting to be picked up from my local post office.
It was an Alba CD player from my 0%/9mths MBNA card, as I'd taken the card out a couple of months ago I had forgotten all about the CD Player, great stuff.

I now have both the Halifax card 0% for 9 months and the Abbey National at 0% for 9 months.
Both companies paid in a large sum onto my Egg card. Although I have an Egg account I could not move the money from my card into my account. So I phoned Egg, after 3 days the money arrived into my account. Within seconds this was moved to my Ing account.
Have now put both cards away and they will not be used.
Keep up the good work Martin. When I first visited your site I found it a little confusing, but after reading and inwardly digesting all of your members and guests imputs, I am now beginning to enjoy this site.0 -
Applied for MBNA card about 4 wks ago, today I got 2 matching mens and womens Accurist watches!! Only got the card for the 9 months 0% on balance transfers, didn't know I'd get a prezzie too - bonus!0

I would just like to say that I also applied for the MBNA Platinum Plus card just to collect the ladies and gents Seconda watch set (RRP £99 ) which duely arrived after a couple of weeks. The big bonus was that I received a second recorded delivery parcel a week later with another set of Seconda matching watches :).
Also applied to Sainsbury's Bank for a visa card as they were offering £25 cash back in shopping vouchers in a mailshot promo. Have yet to receive these freebies.
However using the Sainsbury's visa card, I managed to cut and extra 5% or about £23 off my car insurance renewal. Sainsbury's car insurance was cheaper than Esure who I believe operate the policies for Sainsburys as they have the same address. Strange but true.
The funny thing is that I have all these credit cards but AMEX Blue keep rejecting my application ???.0 -
Has anyone recieved there free Digital Cammera.
I have phoned American Express twice and been fobbed of both timesOnce told therev was a backlog of applications then told they had run out and were ordering new stock.... It was meant to be 28days I have now had the card for 4months and still no Camera
is American Express trying the Order the card and you will forget to claim the freebie trick??
If so can Martin remind others to hassle them for what they were promised.
Come on Amex..........
Or should I try not paying the bill next statement??
or what about buy myself a camera and Amex will pay the bill (I wish)

Today, in a shopping mall in Leeds, Citi Platinum were offering an interest free loan up to £2000 as well as 0% purchases and bal. transfers for 6 months. The loan is part of the available credit limit and can be credited to a savings account to earn interest. ;D0

Further to my last post about Cit Platinum, I have just read the small print. The 'loan' is in fact a cash advance with a handling charge at 3%. This was not pointed out by the saleswoman and I am releived that I did not opt for the cash.0

Just shows you have to be very careful. I took out a Virgin Card last September and had a cash advance, which I would never dream of doing normally due to the charges involved. I double checked with them that there would be no charges or commission, which was confirmed. As Martin is always saying read the T&C carefully, and then still ASK.
By the way my cash advance is sitting in my savings account on line gaining interest! And has already been paid off by another 0% card.
TrevI am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
Further to my post earlier on this topic, I would just like to add that today we received our freebie of £25 worth of Sainsburys shopping vouchers.
They were delivered within the timescale promised. ie. 60 days from the 3rd transaction using the Sainsburys card.
Once again I have used the card to buy car insurance from Sainsburys Bank as it was an extra 5% discount. It beat the renewal quote of Esure who seem to be partners with Sainsburys as they share the same address in Glasgow.
Trying now to get another set of matching Accurist watches from MBNA again after a new mailshot.0
