NB - MBNA FREE WATCH OFFER

I have just applied for the MBNA Card with the 0% balance transfer and FREE WATCH offer.

People applying should know that the "FREE" watch will not be sent out until 28 days after making the first purchase on the card - but no limit is specified.

I'm accessing the internet from work (hey, it's the cheapest way - ie free!) so haven't had time to trawl trough everything to see if this has been posted already so apologies if it's been mentioned before.

Similar to the MBNA Europe Platinum card, Virgin Credit Card are offering a free personal CD player. But hopefully this one will work!

To receive your free personal CD player simply apply for your card online before 10th October and make your first purchase before 21 November 2003.

    · 0% p.a. balance transfer rate fixed for six months from the date your account is opened
    · 15.9% APR (variable) on card purchases
    · No annual fee
    · For every £1 you spend you earn 1 Virgin Reward point to spend in the Virgin Credit Card Members Shop
    · Accepted in most countries throughout the world & can be used in over 630,000 cash points**
    · Free 24hr helpline

There's no mention of a minimum spend on the junk mail I was sent but here's the link for more details and to apply if you're interested: Virgin Credit Card

There's also an Accucard available issued through Lloyds TSB offering cash back on all purchases, 0% for six months and a very competitive rate:

    · Choose your own individual rates from 9.9% p.a (11.5% APR variable)
    · 0% on Balance Transfers for 6 months (12.9% typical APR variable)
    · Spend with your card and earn up to 0.8% CashBack
    · No liability for fraudulent use of card
    · Online account management; 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
    · What's your favourite colour? Choose your own card design

Click here for more Accucard info

  • Hi all!

Just received a promotional e-mail this morning from CD-Wow offering 2 free CDs (worth £8.99 each - ie. most of their normal stock like chart CDs) if you apply (and are approved) for an Amex Blue card.

The card itself is offering 4.9% on life of balance transfers or if you'd rather use it for spending (obviously clearing it as the APR is 18.9% - not good) you can get 2% cashback instead of 1% for the first three months.

Also please note the card has a fee of £15.00 if you don't spend £500p.a. on it.

The nice thing about this offer seems to be the fact there are no real strings about the free CDs - it seems to imply you just have to apply for the card and be approved - obviously using the special affiliated link in the e-mail.

You can find an online version of the e-mail with the full terms and all the links here - http://images.cd-wow.com/mailout/aexp_sept_03/cdw_aexp_sept_03.html

    Hi Martin,

I have recently opened a credit card account with Halifax, and have received my third statement but no £50 credit. What info. do you require?
  • Received offer through post today for an Abbey National Credit Card. These cards are issued by MBNA. It's giving 0% on balance transfers for 8 months AND two free "Weekender Travel Bags" if your application reaches them before 26/10/03 and you use the card before 14/12/03. It doesn't specify a minimum spend and you only have to use it once.

The bags look very nice and a useful size. I think I might.....

  • I just rang Egg card to change my statement and payment date.. They did it and then asked if I wanted to add a 2nd cardholder... I said "Not Really!" but he said if I did they would send me half a crate of wine (6 bottles.) in time for Christmas.

So I said okay then! :P I will just cut the card up when it arrives as my hubby has two already anyway.

The offer started last week and is open to first 12,000 2nd card holder applicants.

Plus I think I get entered in to a £5k cash prize draw too. ;D
  • Phone Egg to change statement date!
Asked if they had any offers for introducing 2nd card holder (wasn't specific).
After checking my account they claimed there was nothing on offer.

Then.. went online, logged in and hey presto there is a link to take 2nd card holder and be in with a shout to receive 1 in 12,000 cases of wine!!

Do these guys not have targets?
