  • Morning all,

Hugs to those of you with poorly bits.

Actually hung the towels on the line this morning as there is only supposed to be a shower at lunchtime, so fingers crossed.

Had a lovely nights sleep last night, mind you I generally sleep well after I have been to yoga. I think its the relaxation that does it :)

DH has gone to mend some leaks in the houses in our road. We are in a row of 1960's terraced town houses and this year with the masses of rain they have all leaked in the same place!

I'm going to have a potter round the Outlet centre this morning. DS2 has a school residential trip to Snowdonia coming up next month and he needs some 'expedition' clothing. Need to pop into the library too as I realised my books were due back yesterday.

    Have a good day ;)
  • Morning all
I dropped hubby at work this morning, drove to the garage where DS fixed my wipers & brake lights, his boss said DS could pay for the parts at cost, so I didn't pay a penny but will treat DS to a slap up meal one night soon.
DD1 who is expecting twins is at Center Parcs with her hubby & brood of 3 foster children & oldest FC's brother. They visited at he weekend as we won't see them this half term, hopefully the other DGC's will visit, with dog.
I'm going to do some cooking, baking & knitting today as it is damp & cold out.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

    Hi everyone,

My cold's a bit better, there is a bit of sunlight peeping through the windows, I can see the snowdrops through the window and smell the hyacinths I bought yesterday so I am trying to get myself into a better frame of mind.

We've a new settee coming tomorrow to replace our ancient much loved leather one which has worn into holes. DS says he wants it for his boys room because he can stretch out on it and sleep comfortably, despite being 6'6. I don't think his gf wants it though.

I need to go and post the probate forms off, I hope I've filled them in correctly.

LW, NPM and Mollie, I hope you are all ok and anyone else in need - I too have seen Bitsy posting on FB'

    Have a good day.
  • <Waves> hello were my ears burning ;)

I am around but kinda got out of posting on the daily for while, don't post much on MSE these days.
Things are OK here, DD is 5 going on 15, DS has been slotted in for emergency counselling at school due to some of the stuff he's been telling his mentor, it's made alarm bells ring at school. So I am plodding on, busy doing heavens knows what.....taking pictures for my 100 happy days project probably lol
Got a friend visiting in a mo with my parents in tow so shall have to leave it there.

Hugs and spoons all round sorry I've not replied individually. I ought to get back into the habit I suppose. Hope you are all well xx

    Hi all,

Not been posting much but have been reading.

So sorry some of you have been having a bad time ((hugs x))

I have the week off work, don,t know why I bother to take school hol,s off now as I usually end up 'abandoned' with the kids (teens) doing their own thing.

It does give me a chance to sort the house out, de-juked our bedroom yesterday, got rid of 2 bags of clothes to charity.

Today is kitchen, sorting the cupboards out.

As I mentioned a while ago, I am now engaged, we,ve set the date for end of August, tiny wedding about 25 guests, I am really happy about this, but am getting worried about what to wear, being short (5'2) and a size 16, and 46 nothing seems to suit diidn,t help my confidence when snobby wedding dress lady sucked her teeth like a dodgy plumber and stated ' your an awkward shape'....

I love this dress, but don,t know if its going to look okay, thoughut i,d thow it out there for comments ;)

Much younger, slimmer, taller work colleague bought from this site and the dress was stunning....

Anyway, hope the weather is being kind to most of you, makes me so sad to see those flooded x

    Take care all x

Islandmaid, it's a lovely dress. It's a bit difficult to give an opinion without knowing your shape so I'll just give a few general observations. I think it would be accentuate the bust area and also difficult too find a bra which wouldn't show at the back (which I love)so not so good if big busted. If you have a waist (I don't) then I think the shape would be good, it seems to drape well.

Good luck with the hunt - I have problems as well being the opposite of the natural British pear shape.
  • Just had to delurk and say island maid what a stunning dress!

  • De lurking also to say what a beautiful dress island maid. I think it would also make you look taller (if that is what you would like). Which colour would you go for?

SNOOZER - I,m big everywhere LOL the only positive is that aty least its all in sort of proportion ;)

I will be spanx,d to within an in of my life, and I do have a fab strappless bra which holds me up and is a low back - an amazing feat of engineering.

I tried on a dress that should have suited me - v necked, pulled in waist and a- line skirt - I looked like Janette Krankie playing dress up

If I could get married in jeans I,d be a happy girl, but OH has begged me to wear a long dress and I want to give him a memory of me that does not involve my usual uniform of jeans and jumper

Busy mum - it is a beautiful dress isn,t it - the thought of wearing a formal dress terrifies me - for such a gobby mare, I am not very confident with my appearance

Candlelight - it will be ivory - OH,s first time and he has his 'wish list' though he,d hate for me not to be comfortable - plenty of time to get it right

I see on the news some councils are costing up the flood damage - I do hope the government sticks to its word about cost being no issue
