BBC Radio Derby, Parking eye, Queens Hospital ( Burton upon Trent, Derbyshire)

Available for 7 days, starts at 1hr 37 and again at 2hr 20

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01q9r76

lots of criticism of an overly complex pakring system, lots of mentioning the word fines, and no comment from Burton hospital, and requests to email/contact the presenter
here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p002mwys

Looks like he may need some help in understanding what exactly these fines are, the utterly disgusting antics of parking eye and that a certain parking prankster may be able to help people get their money back

Wasn't there another hospital recently (can't remember where) who put in the same system where the drivers had to know how long they had been there, pay the right amount, otherwise PE would send a "fine" in the post? The hospital had to back down in the end.

Utterly disgraceful by PE, and the hospital Exec who signed it off. It's a system deliberately set up to entrap users, where it is so easy for the system to tell people what they owe (you know, just like old-fashioned ticket-on-entry systems).

Someone at the hospital should be fired over this. But they won't be - typical of such pubic-sector cosy jobs.

and this from a hospital spokesperson/manager at 1:44
We dont benefit at all within the trust from the fines, because they go straight to parking eye who manage the system for us, and thats how the system is paid for
and then a bit on how parking eye then pay the hospital the amount that the hospital would have received in standard charges from the "fines"

Perfect evidence for POPLA or even a court that this IS a fine and is clearly NOT equivalent to the Trust's losses (or even PE's for that matter).

Another person from the Trust who needs to be fired, methinks

According to the BPA a PPC that isn't signed up to the healthcare parking charter can't manage a hospital car park. Get PE thrown out of that then the entire problem goes away for all hospitals that have been stupid enough to use them and are now realising the error of their ways...
