  • Do they still pay 40p per text? If so this ends up being well below minimum wage considering they expect 15 hours per week. Does not compute... :-/

    Yes, it's 40p per text.

It's certainly not below minimum wage. It depends on how fast you can answer the questions. My average answering time is somewhere between 2 and 2.5 minutes, so on average I'm earning £10 to £12p/hr.

    That's certainly not minimum wage!

Granted, it depends if the site is busy, but I'd say 70% of the time there is always a steady stream of questions, so earning this kind of hourly wage - or higher - is entirely possible.

If you do not meet the minimum hours 1 week what is the outcome? Are they very strict on hours and attendance. Reason I ask is my toddler has taken to not going down til late so there may be occasions I cant meet the minimum. Hope this settles soon though!

Is it only via the facebook link? This seems right up my street but I'm not on facebook. I'm self-employed and could do with some extra income.

Edit. I've sent an email to the address mentioned in this thread with the ref: FR/Eve15. Thanks for posting the link. Hoping they're still recruiting!

Does anyone know if you have to be on facebook and twitter (or other social networking sites) to be successful in your application?

I've just been emailed the application pack and it mentions requiring you to be comfortable with social networking. I know how to use facebook, twitter, etc but don't. Will that go against my application?

I don't mind setting-up a new facebook and twitter account if it helps.
  • It won't affect your application, but you will need to have full access to facebook in order to answer the questions. I don't think you can see people's profiles without being a member yourself, and that'll be a big source of information for you. Fairly sure you don't need to be a member of Twitter to search there, so that shouldn't be a problem.

They don't seem to be too strict on this, as I haven't always met the minimum hours (within the contracted timeframe anyway) and it hasn't been a problem... so far anyway.

I think the main thing is that you log in on a regular basis and are frequently available during busy periods. You'll get emails/texts when it's busy, and I surmise they are more bothered about you showing up in those times. Your contracted hours may be really quiet, and outside of them it may be crazy busy. As long as the question demand is being met I'm fairly sure they're flexible.

How long after applying did you get your pack? I've heard nothing yet after emailing on the 29th.

I was quite surprised actually. I emailed yesterday evening and received the application pack (by email) today!

    Hopefully you'll get yours soon.

That's great - thanks! I did set-up a facebook account a few years ago but I never use it.

I don't mind using it for this work though. Assume I can see people's profiles even if I'm not a facebook "friend"? I thought everyone set it to private now (I haven't used it for so long I have no idea how things are now).

I'm going to apply anyway - and see if I'm successful with my application!
