What can be cheaper than 0/month, assuming you stay within your limits you will be quids in after only 3 month. We have one Ovivo and one Orange in the family browsing speed is actually a bit better on the Ovivo , never had an issue with either.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

Yes, think I will trial ovivo for 3 months - see how good or poor the data speeds are in my part of the country. After 3 months if necessary I can bail to virgin or talkmobile for £7 per month or giffgaff as suggested, without losing out financially by that stage on the ovivo deal.
In the meantime, still trying to work out how to get the phone to work as instructed. May take it back to the store at the weekend for a replacement!0 -
As someone said earlier ..
swipe left or right moves you between 5 app pages - home in the middle
circle with 6 dots takes you to apps/widgets
thats what happens on mine - its unlocked !
on Kit Kat
I don't think anything is wrong with yours ! - change may be due to KitKat ? - see in other thread you said it had done various upgrades
which manual are you referring to ?
or do you mean accessing widgets on the lock screen ?0 -
Thanks, Keith. I know that I can access the apps through the icon, but after unlocking the phone, you can also access them through swiping the home page to the side. Or, at least, I could until some point yesterday ... ! Now I just have a series of 5 'pages', with the home page in the middle, and two either side which just have wallpaper.
Your 5 'pages' are where you place and arrange your favourite app icons and would typically be blank (or have a limited number of icons) when you start from new.
For example, on your home page screen you may wish to have icons covering your most frequently accessed apps such as Internet, Mail, Calendar, WhatsApp, Facebook Twitter etc, then on the second screen app icons relating to travel or shopping.
To arrange them varys between phones but on my Nexus 5 you just move to the screen where you want the icon to appear (say number 2) then access your apps pressing the 6 dots then press and hold onto the app you want on screen 2. Screen 2 will appear and you then position the app icon wherever you wish.0 -
Hi, as previously mentioned , these other 4 pages ,accessed by a side swipe , are where you place the apps you want to access regularly......if these pages are now "blank" then somehow they have reset and you will have to refill them from the app section.
There is nothing "wrong" with the phone other than an update has probably caused this to happen.0 -
well he also saidI've factory reset the phone,
that would likely result in no app on pages 1,2, 4,50 -
^^^ That's what I was thinking.
OP you just need to go the the Apps page (6 dots in a circle) press and hold whichever app you want on your home pages and the rest should become clear.
At least it was to me, and I'd never used Android before.0 -
Many thanks all for taking the time to reply. Some experimentation to be going on with this evening ... !
Edit, well yes that's right!! I know it did go straight to the whole Apps & widgets screens by flicking to the side when I first got it, and it no longer does so, but yes I can drag individual apps to the side panels. Not sure if I'm that keen as the panels don't 'settle' clearly, but there you are ...
Every day's a school day (particularly with your first smartphone)
