I only got back into comping mid Jan and started tweeting not long after. Up to just over 1900 tweets and no wins yet0

must admit ive never won with twitter but i'm still getting to grips with all the terminology...i usually just 'follow' and 'retweet' when entering a comp, is this enough to win? and is Tweeting the same as Retweeting? if not, i don't think i've tweeted anyone then and i've no idea if anyone has tweeted me. i get emails from companies ive entered with saying they're following me though
Oh, i probably enter a good 20 or so twitter comps a day and i never really use twitter for anything else.

I'm still waiting for my first Twitter win too and I think I have tweeted about 500+ so far.
:A:j Thanx to all who post the comps!!! :j0 -
I tweet most weeks and it was 20 months and around 4000 before i won something. (dec 2013, mind you prize was worht over $1000)
With twitter you need to be crafty and do what hardcore compers (thats these women and men who seem to comp 24 hours a day do, thats set up a BLOG)
You see 90% of rafflecopter blog comps are actually just regular compers who have found a good way to get free stuff.
I virtually never enter a 'compers' blog as they then have ALL your personal information, and if there were doing it professionally then they wouldnt be compers.
So be very careful about whos blogs you join aswell.
Also on 90% of twitter comps you will see the very same names at the top of the tweet lists, how is this done?
I dont know but it pees me off seeing these people who have tweet 500,000 + times!
Some call them compers some call them beggars, either way you'll never win loads on twitter unless you have a blog and basically beg like 'ooh i would promote this and review this on my fashion/make up/parenting blog etc....
One of the most well known compers has MORE than 1 blog aswell!?! Hmmm.....;)
(oh finally if youre a normal person like me who only enters for what you'd like to win (not these EBAY COMPERS-who are on this forum aswell) you will find once you reach 2000 followed twitter will stop you adding more, and if you tweet more than say 40 times a day likewise youre account will be blocked, UNLESS youre a BLOGGER)
You could of course scupper some of them by 're-tweeting' their tweets, apparantly this can invalidate entires??? There was a thread on here about that recently.,Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0 -

Thanks for clearing this up VP, I always thought Twitter was a waste of time.0 -
Technically snake,
No comps are not worth entering as it does only take 1 entry to win,
but defo dont let twitter rule your comping life, i spend around 20 mins per day max on twitter, and like i say once you hit 2000 followed then you will have to 'unfollow' to be able to follow agagin.
If like me you aint too bothered then just do say 20-40 a day that way you'll never 'go to twitter jail' and one day a prize will come.
But i dont ever let twitter worry me, if i win on there its a bonus!
I even sometimes enter comps like the 'premier shops' where you can enter 100 times, but i still only enter once and move to the next comp.
(many itv winners on here have won with only 1 phone number!)
(oh and a word of warning, once a normal non-blogging or business user hits 2000 followers then go to your home page - then click 'following' then you list will come up and then you just look at the right hand side of each company and click 'unfollow' (i did around 200 unfollows yesterday and it took me 30 mins) but be careful as there as 'so-called' companies advertising 'we unfollow for you' its a pure scam, just do it yourself.)
p.s
Dont use 'true twit' they verify users, which is ok if youre using twitter for just family and friends, but if youre a comper it means anyone who wants to follow you wont be able to unless they verify via 'true twit' which means you may miss out on prizes as companies cant get hold of you if they dont verify, and in all my 2 years on there i had only 20 who verified (maybe would have won more, but i only found out about what true twit was the other day, (i felt like a 'true twit' when i found this out)Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0 -

Think I'll just avoid it all together.Cheers VP0 -
I owuldnt avoid it altogether you could always use a tweet service
such as --
http://twitaculous.com/list.php?page=3&list=uk_comp&sort=ending_asc&latestend=
-- you just log in (with your normal twitter)and it has loads of comps which you can sort into date end order (my link is date ending order) and you just click the button and it follows and tweets for you and tells you if you need to make a comm or answer a question etc, and provides the box to do it.
You can do 20 comps in literally 5mins!
Always worth trying!
p.s (my link starts at 'page 3' sorry)
But ive just done the whole page 3 which is 17 comps and i timed it
it took me 78 seconds!!!
(at the very top of page you will see 'comp-o-meter' which will become red, once it reaches the end, thats when you should stop entering for at least 20 minutes or you will 'go to jail'
Lol just gone back to see what exactly ive just entered to win - 'bingo bags??','tube power bank??', 'a scratchcard', 'a pen', a'a puma coat', 'a tea towel', 'tickets to some horse thing',
So dont do what i did but i just did that as a test, but have a look through the pages and you will find prizes you may be after, gadgets, food, cash, hols etcStill comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0 -
I've done 22,000 tweets and won about 4, maybe 5 twitter compsUEFA: Corrupting Football Since 1954 #CTID0
