I am a dog owner but, like most of the PPs, I think people who let their dogs roam around fouling are lazy and irresponsible. In an ideal world this individual would be stopped from owning a dog he patently doesn't look after properly.

It should not be up to the OP to prevent the dog from going into his garden as the responsibility for controlling the dog lies with its owner. However, given the owner's attitude, if you want to do something other than report this to the dog warden or confront the owner again, you could try shaking pepper over your garden or using something like 'Get Off Spray' (available from Amazon or in pet shops). Alternatively, you could use a sonic repellent like this one: http://www.primrose.co.uk/-p-1251.html?utm_source=amazon&utm_term=Fox+Repeller&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Amazon_Product_Ads
    Good luck!

  • I forget the exact name but you can buy a product cheap enough that will change the dogs habits. I bought some to protect the veg patch in my own garden from being soiled by my two dogs.

The product I bought was called 'dog off' although this isn't a brand name and I'm sure that there are othe similar products availible out there.. The one I bought came in a squeeze ketchup type bottle and it dispensed something that looked like green air freshened crystals. It smelled vaguely of eucLyptus or menthol and did the trick.

It was about £4 delivered from ebay a few years back - I'm sure Wilkinsons would stock it or similar.

Definately speak to the dog warden. I would also try short sticks dotted around the lawn with black thread woven round and between them. Being a short animal, it may put the dog off if it can't get over the thread.

You could catch it and give it to the dog warden as a stray...
