Very noisy neighbours

  • might be really daft but when she has the noise up really loud what about going round and asking her to just come into your living room and hear just how loud it is for you. If she actually gets to hear it herself she may come back to reality a bit. Obviously this would only work if she is generally a reasonable person.

I think people are so wrapped up in themselves sometimes that they don't notice how their behaviour affects other people until they are forced to see their own behaviour IYSWIM!

Thanks, but I tried this. I knocked on her door and shouted at her to get her coat on ( had to shout so that she could hear me), and told her to come to mine so she could hear exactly how loud it was. Her response? No thanks, I don't need to

  • Our neighbours from hell have just recently moved out. They drove me insane with the loud music & anti-social behaviour.
I tried talking to them & also playing their game with the music by blasting speakers with heavy metal music vs their chavvy $hiite. I just got verbal abuse from them.
Finally I invested in one of these below, a few blasts during the night certainly gave them a fright!!!!! Funny how they suddenly moved out 2 weeks ago.......

Absolutely love this idea!! I'm now off to google where I can get one.
Thanks, you've made my day :T

All the advice I would give would be the wrong side of the law, because, in this situation, the law is an !!!.

The thing is, she doesn't appear unreasonable, but also doesn't seem to care that this is really inflicting on mine and my families

I don't like to make excuses for people, who on the face of it appear to be behaving inconsiderately to neighbours. However could it be that this lady has a hearing problem, and does not realise just how much her noise is affecting others? This perspective could explain why she is not unreasonable when you approach her, yet inadvertently comes across as not caring about her actions when she continues them. I do hope that you manage to get this situation sorted out once and for all. To live with such disturbance for as long as you have must be so draining.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Is there a neighbour on the other side of her that can join your battle?

When we have had problems with our neighbours we have always made a joint complaint, both to the letting agent and to the environmental department at the council. It has made a difference.

I phoned the police one Tuesday night at 2.40am and hung the phone out of the window to the sound of M&M and asked what can you do about this? I had work the next day at 7.30am. The answer was nothing, we dont deal with noise anymore its the council you want.

    Noisy neighbours are awful.

    ... M&M... :rotfl:
  • I think you will find it is the son who is causing the problem and mum is probably scared to tackle him if he is as bad as you say.

The best course of action is environmental health who can advise you what is the best course of action as they can confiscate stereos etc that are causing misery.

No, i know she hasn't got a hearing problem, she's already agreed that her music is too loud, but she likes listening to it like that. The dogs are a more recent thing as she breeds them and has kept at least one from the new litter.
