  • I think such minor criminality would be insignificant! The guy is probably sat at some beach bar in Barbados anyway. I doubt he'd have made all that money and want to stay in the !!!!-pit Google Maps throws up!
On it's own it probably is (though 123RF might disagree), but combined with everything else it is an indication of a lack of professionalism

  • Also, Action Fraud pointed out that Zebra Books had the VAT number. Gareth Moore did not - whoever he was trading as!

And not exactly difficult to remove given the nature of the image!
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

On facebook they use a different address for their " shop"
    100 Royal Avenue , belfast.
Everyone involved also needs to report to actionfraud.
  • but I think it is pretty offensive to say people shouldn't be allowed near a computer with a credit card if they've ordered. Way to kick people when they're down..........I called Barclaycard before ordering and said I thought it was potentially a scam but didn't want to miss out on the savings on offer

    I rest my case.

You thought it seemed dodgy before you ordered but you ordered anyway.

It's things like this that could eventually lead to payment protection on credit cards being scrapped. It's there to help out people who are genuinely ripped off through no fault of their own.. not people thinking "oh this looks really dodgy but I can just claim back from the CC when it all goes tits up".
  • Just wonder how many people have been scammed?
Facebook page seems to have disappeared now.
The 100 Royal Avenue address was the old Bank of Ireland building last inhabited by the 'Occupy Belfast' movement in 2012!

I rest my case - you're still being pretty offensive.

And thanks for giving me such a warm welcome to the forum.

Note the bit you didn't quote about the credit card company - "they told me to buy, buy and buy again" - encouraging me to proceed with the purchase.

Perhaps you should be directing your comments towards Barclaycard.

I only signed up and posted to help warn others - lets hope anyone else who reads this isn't discouraged from posting for fear of retribution...

Just to make the post a bit more informational I've heard nothing more from the retailer in question and unsurprisingly nothing has arrived.
  • Has anyone actually not received either their purchase or refund after the 14 day period?

First Class post? Despite the fact that it's over the weight limit, and isn't tracked? And not insured for more than a fraction of the value?
No one genuine would send a laptop by any means other than courier.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

There's no 14 day period. An Item from stock would be expected 7 days after order - and that's from my card company!
